Six Weeks of Seduction by Ellis O. Day

CHAPTER 46:  NICK

Nick couldn’t say how long he lay there listening to Sarah pretending to sleep. He had no idea how to prove to her that he was serious about this, about them.

Right now, he hated his past and yet, if he hadn’t been a member of La Petite Mort Club he never would’ve met her. He rolled onto his back. She was on her side, facing him. She had her eyes closed.

“I know you’re not sleeping.”

It took a moment but she opened her eyes.

“I swear to you, that as long as we’re together there won’t be any other women.” He shifted onto his side and scooted down so he was looking into her eyes. “I don’t want anyone else.”

“Why do you have all this stuff if you never bring anyone here?”

“For you.” He grinned. He’d enjoyed every minute researching and shopping for all these things.

“But…you had it that first night.”

“I did.” He ran his thumb over her cheek. He’d never tire of touching her.

“But…”

His smile slipped. It looked like confession time was here. Suddenly, he didn’t care if he looked like a fool. “I bought it waiting for you. I was sure you’d want to see me again.” His eyes dropped. Admitting his flaws didn’t come easily for him, but he’d do it for her. “I tend to be a bit arrogant at times.”

“You…you contacted Ethan.” Her fingers were a whisper on his chin.

He raised his eyes. “Yes.” He didn’t have to say anything about his celibacy. He wasn’t ready to admit to that since she’d immediately gone out and started dating her business partner.

“I’m…sorry.”

He shrugged. It still hurt but he had her now and wasn’t letting her go.

“I-I wanted to…contact Ethan but I figured you’d moved on.”

“I didn’t.” He kissed her, his tongue slipping into her mouth and playing softly with hers. “I haven’t.” He leaned closer, deepening the kiss. “I won’t.”

She pulled away, putting her hand on his chest to stop him from lowering himself on top of her. “I can’t, Nick. I’m exhausted.”

“Sorry.” He rolled to his back and pulled her to his side. “Later.”

“Definitely.” She kissed his chest.

His hand skimmed down her back and rested on her ass, his fingers moving back and forth in a soft caress.

“I’ll go to your sister’s party with you, if Maisie can watch Tank and if you still want me to go.”

“Really?” His hand stilled.

She laughed. “Yes. Really.”

“You don’t know how happy that makes me.” He kissed her and this time it was filled with heat and passion. “Get some sleep so I can show you exactly how happy I am.”
