Chapter Nineteen
I’m on top of him, though I don’t remember making the decision to sleep here. On his bed. On his body. Naked.
It should feel far worse than it does, wrapped in a cocoon of a stormy, overcast morning and the semi-darkness of his bedroom.
Peace is a strange concept here. Maybe calm is a better word. The calm before the storm comes in the form of soft footsteps, and a gentle voice that pierces the quiet.
“Sir?”
“Goddamn.” Domino hisses his irritation though he doesn’t move. Because of me?
“Ines… What the hell? It’s barely seven.” He’s taking pains with her that he doesn’t usually, straining to keep his voice level, avoiding the use of any curse words. He respects her.
“I am sorry, sir. But Mr. Jaguar—”
“Tell him I’ll call him later,” Domino snaps.
Ines sighs. “I am sorry, sir. But Mr. Jaguar is here.”
