Devilish Deal by Jenna Wolfhart

My heart thudded in my chest. For a moment, I swore I couldn’t breathe. Az’s ice-flecked eyes roared with eternal flames, and the temperature inside his penthouse suddenly went up a few degrees. He’d read my emotions which meant he knew exactly how I felt. He knew the secrets of my soul.

Deep down, I knew I should be embarrassed, but I wasn’t. Not after all that liquid courage.

“Maybe you’re just being hopeful,” I finally managed.

Shadows swirled across his skin. “It’s the same emotion from the party.”

“Yes, well.” I swallowed hard as memories replayed in my mind. His thumb brushing my thigh. His finger inside of me. “I am only human. That is a perfectly normal reaction to being touched like that.”

His lips quirked as his dark gaze dropped to my bare shoulders. A hint of cleavage peaked out from the fluffy robe. In my hurry to get out of my clothes, I hadn’t bothered to put a dry bra or panties on. Whoops.

“You didn’t tell me to stop,” he practically purred in a lethal lion type of way. Like I was his prey.

“We were putting on a show. We had an audience.”

“We don’t have an audience now.”

My heart flipped, and his hand dropped to my shoulder. He massaged the skin just below my neck where knots had formed from all my pent-up anxiety and fear. Sparks rushed across my skin.

“You’re very tense,” he murmured as he took my empty glass from my fingers and placed it on the coffee table next to his.

“Yes,” I said around a trembling breath. “Trying to trap a serial killer will do that to a girl.”

“I know a way to make you relax.” His knuckles dug deeper into my shoulders, and I bit back an explosive moan. God, his touch felt good. More than good. It was euphoric. And that was just from a massage.

“I’m sure you do.”

Smiling, he pushed me back against the couch and tugged at the tie around the robe. I swallowed hard as I watched him work his deft fingers. Soon, it came undone. My heart did another flip. “Az…”

He slowly opened the robe, pushing the soft material onto either side of my naked body. I trembled as he gazed down at me with his ice-flecked eyes. They swirled with flames, sparking up the dark apartment. As he sank to his knees before me, everything within me clenched tight.

I could barely find the words to ask him what exactly he thought he was doing. “Did you forget what you just said? We don’t have an audience.”

“Mia,” he said in a deep growl. “Let me take care of you.”

When I thought about someone taking care of me, I imagined a bowl of chicken soup and some fluffy pajamas. Maybe a cooling wet towel on my forehead to lower my temperature. You know, the kind of things you got when you were sick. I sure as hell had never imagined something like this.

Az dropped a kiss on my knee. I shuddered, and my eyes practically rolled back into my head. My god, how did every single thing he did feel so incredibly amazing? His fingers tiptoed along the outside of my thighs, stilling when they reached my hips.

My heart thundered as I gazed down at him. Leaning forward, he kissed my belly. Shivers stormed through me. His kiss went lower. Another storm of shivers rocked my body.

Core aching, I reached down and wound my fingers through his soft hair. I could barely stand it anymore. I wanted—no, I needed—his mouth on me.

His lips came agonizingly close. My lungs stilled. Everything within me tensed. Even my hands gripped his hair like I would fall if I let go.

He dragged his tongue across my core.

My breath exploded from my throat as I arched toward him, tremors of pleasure shaking through me. All the last remnants of my inhibitions vanished as I tugged him closer. With a low, delicious growl rolling through his body, he licked my folds with a feverish intensity.

I shook against him. His fingers gripped my thighs. Losing all control, I rocked against his mouth, barely holding on as I slid further and further toward the edge of an endless cliff.

His tongue slid inside of me, and that was all it took. I came undone, my need shattering like ancient stars. My body pulsed around his tongue as he kept his grip tight on my thighs. When my quaking finally slowed, I relaxed against the couch, my heart beating a million times a minute.

Az leaned back with a smug smile on his face. “I told you I would make you relax. Don’t you feel better now?”

“You’re right,” I breathed.

“Did I just hear you say I’m right about something?” Slowly, he pushed up from the floor to tower over me, blocking out the city lights. “Hmm. You really did enjoy that.”

Conscious of how exposed I was before him, I reached for the edges of the robe, but the tone in his voice stopped me short.

“Mia.”

I sat up a little straighter, suddenly alert all over again.

“Are you sure you’re fully relaxed?”

My eyes dropped to the thick bulge in his pants. Heart pounding in my ears, I understood at once what he meant. He’d driven me wild with need, but he wasn’t immune to the spark between us. Need clenched my thighs.

Slowly, I stood from the couch and let the robe slip all the way off my body. It pooled around my bare feet. I reached up and fingered the buttons of his shirt. As I fumbled with the top one, he shook his head, grabbed the fabric, and ripped the shirt right off his body.

“I can’t wait that long,” he said in a growl that made goosebumps pop up on every inch of my skin. The heat in his eyes burned me up from the inside out, and all I could do was stare as he tore his pants clean in half. He tossed them across the room, locking his eyes on mine.

I shuddered as I stared at his glistening, muscular body. Every single inch of him was chiseled to perfection, including a deep V that led down to his well-endowed cock. A cock that, as far as I could see, had no weird demon tail spade attached to it.

Thank god.

He lifted me into his arms and carried me across the apartment, his mouth claiming mine. Hunger roiled off his body as he dropped me back onto the dining table and braced his arms on either side of my head. Heart pounding, I spread my thighs for him.

He groaned as he pushed inside of me. His hard length stretched me wide, almost filling me completely. With his fingers gripping my thighs, he thrusted deep. I dropped my head back onto the table as a desperate pleasure built up inside my core.

“You looked so good with my finger inside of you,” he growled as he thrusted inside of me again. “But you look even better like this.”

His carved chest rippled beneath the lights of the city that poured across him. Tightening his grip on my thighs, he thrusted even harder. I watched him over me as a delicious heat spread through my body. This powerful demon who locked out the entire world. Except for me. And he was now claiming me as if he were mine.

There was no audience anymore. We weren’t putting on a show for anyone else. It was just him and me and this passion charging between us. And I didn’t want it to end.

As his eyes locked on mine, another explosion of pleasure shook through my body, taking me over the edge. He thrusted into me once more and came only seconds behind. A deep growl echoed through the silent penthouse as he shuddered against me. Sweat dripped down his chest, our bodies melting as we became one.

He sighed against me. Slowly, he pulled me off the table and carried me back over to the sofa. We collapsed into the cushions together, our limbs all tangled. He’d been right, of course. I was very relaxed now, even as my mind spun with new questions.

What the hell had just happened? Was it a drunken one-night stand and nothing more?

I didn’t manage to hold on to those questions for long. Exhaustion tugged on my tired bones, begging me for sleep. Sighing, I curled up on his chest and gave in to the call. Soon, a dreamless sleep enveloped me.

* * *

Abanging jolted me from sleep. My head pounded as I climbed off Az’s body, rubbed my eyes, and blearily glanced around. The pounding was coming from the door.

My stomach flipped.

Grunting, Az climbed to his feet and wrapped his torn shirt around his waist. He padded over to the door and cracked it open. Caim rushed inside, followed closely by Phenex.

I let out a little cry of alarm and tugged the robe over my chest.

Phenex stumbled to a stop and glanced around. “Oh.”

Caim grinned. “Oh.

“Stop gawking and get the hell on with it,” Az growled, stepping between me and the guys so they could no longer get an eyeful of my very obvious nakedness. “You’re banging on my door in the middle of the night. What did you find?”

“Nothing. I’m sorry Mia,” Caim said as the grin slid from his face. “There’s no sign of Serena anywhere.”
