Storm by Aria Ray

Chapter One

Storm

It was Thursday night which meant everyone was here at the clubhouse, and the music was too loud. I sat at my usual table near the stage. It was reserved for me, the President of Dark Slayers.

Across the smoke-filled haze of the dance floor, Amber was hanging off the stripper pole with the metal rod between her legs. Her hips worked, curling and bumping like she was fucking it. My deep-throated chuckle came out like a growl, and I looked away. The last thing I wanted to do was encourage her.

On the other side of the room, Breaker nursed a drink. Every time I looked over at the fucker tonight, he was drinking. He was really going at it, and I needed him to keep his head on his shoulders tonight. Every night. He was the club’s Sergeant-in-Arms. The last thing any of us needed from my second in command was for him to turn into a drunken fool.

“He’s not doing too well,” a voice said beside me. It was Buzz. I didn’t notice that he’d slipped into one of the chairs at my table, which he should have known better than to do.

This was my night for looking over the business books to make sure the money was all in order. We had an accounts guy for it, but I liked to keep my eye on things. And usually, when I was dealing with these books, the guys knew to leave me alone. But Buzz had decided to interrupt me tonight. I turned to him, ready to knock some sense back into him, but I gave him a chance.

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

“I saw you look at Breaker, and I figured someone should give you the full picture.”

“I have the full picture. Breaker’s son has gone missing.”

Buzz nodded, throwing another look in Breaker’s direction.

“And after all these years, they were finally on the verge of having a relationship. You know what I mean? Breaker hadn’t seen his son for so long and now, he’s gone. Vanished into thin air. So many missed opportunities.”

There had to be a perfect explanation for it. That kid was going to turn up, but Breaker wasn’t looking at it that way. Ever since he heard that Daniel was nowhere to be found, he’d dedicated all his energy to finding whatever information he could about his son.

The man was crumbling right before our eyes, and there was nothing we could do about it. The festivities at the clubhouse had taken a hammering tonight, and it was because Daniel Gentry was on all our minds. Breaker was one of us, which made his estranged son one of us, too.

“Maybe so, but someone needs to keep him off the booze tonight,” I said, pointedly staring at Buzz. “He’s going to go down the rabbit hole and there’s no pulling him out of that.”

“Okay.” Buzz nodded and stood up to go, finally seeming to realize that he’d wandered into dangerous territory with me. “I’m going to go talk to him. I’ll see what I can do.”

I waved a hand dismissively at him. This wasn’t my problem, but I needed to keep these guys in check. Keeping our business profitable and fully functional was my first priority.

I saw it all go down right in front of my eyes.

As Buzz made his way towards Breaker, Rosy had stepped in. Just like the rest of us, she was keeping an eye on Breaker, too, and could see he was digging himself a watery grave.

From where I was sitting, and because of the loud music, I couldn’t hear exactly what she had said to him. However, she leaned towards him, thrusting her big tits right in his face and trying to pull him into her arms to…comfort him?

What the fuck is she thinking?

Breaker lost his shit.

He wanted to be left alone, to sit there wallowing in his own self-pity. The last thing he needed was comforting from a woman, den mother or not.

He shoved her away, a flash of rage pulsed across his face. His palms clenched into fists, and he was about to lunge at her. But then he blinked a couple of times and cursed. None of the members would ever strike a woman; a code we all lived by no matter how much we were drinking.

Instead, he whipped around and punched Buzz in the gut, doubling Buzz over from the unexpected hit. Buzz cursed Breaker out, albeit in a broken wheeze.

I stood up just as some of the other club members pounced on the two men. Within a split-second, a fight broke out.

“Untie your panties,” I roared, making my way towards them. Everyone was too damned stressed out.

Five of them were on the floor, practically on top of each other. Most of them were just trying to hold Breaker back. His hard, steely gaze showed his intention—to kill Buzz.

I pushed my way through the crowd, grabbed one of the guys by the collar, and lifted him off the ground. Next, I got my hands on Breaker and pulled him up, too. He was a solid match for me, so if he’d resisted, pulling him off Buzz wouldn’t have been easy. But he knew better than to resist.

As an officer of Dark Slayers, I was his president. His boss. As a member of the MC, he was our brother. At the moment, our brother was in no mood to be fucked with.

“Stand back,” I shouted over the music. “All of you.”

Everyone, including Rosy, stood back and watched us. I was in the middle. From the corner of my eye, I saw Amber in the crowd. I needed a distraction, so I pulled a few twenties from my pocket and went up to her.

Tucking the money in her G-string, I told her, “Give us a show.”

My gaze traveled over her tits, which were spilling out of the pink shimmery bikini top she was wearing. A second ago, she had looked half-worried. These brawls could turn nasty if left unchecked. Now, she had a smile that displayed perfectly white teeth.

“Sure, I can give you all a show,” she said. “All you have to do is give me your mouth.”

At some point, I couldn’t even remember how long ago, I had been half-interested in Amber. She had a fucking hot body and perfect tits. But I didn’t care anymore.

“You can have Teeny’s mouth,” I said, glancing at the prospect who was standing near us.

Frustration flashed across Amber’s face. For a moment, she looked ready to say something, maybe remind me that she wasn’t going to wait around for me much longer.

I didn’t want her to wait. I wasn’t interested.

“Come on, let’s give them a show,” Amber said. Instead of giving me shit, she turned to Teeny. He looked too taken aback to say anything.

She grabbed his hand and pulled him to her. Without missing a beat, she pressed her mouth to his and damn near sucked his tongue down her throat. My plan had worked. Everyone was now focused on watching the way Amber was making out with Teeny. She slid her hand down along his pants until she’d grabbed his balls.

I could tell there wasn’t a limp cock in the surrounding crowd.

While Amber kissed Teeny, though, her eyes remained on me. Whatever she thought her actions would make me feel, she wasn’t succeeding.

Now that the guys were distracted—and it had been ridiculously easy to do so—I turned my attention back to Breaker.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”

Buzz had disappeared somewhere to lick his wounds. The guy could be a nuisance, but everyone trusted him. Just like the rest of us, he had a role to play in the club, too.

Breaker reached for a can of beer which was lying abandoned on a table near us.

“I get that you’re broken up about your kid but stop fucking with the club. Don’t shit where you eat.”

He took a long swig of his beer then wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

“I’m running out of options. I don’t know where else to look. I just want a lead. Any fucking lead. I’ve called in favors. I’ve made threats. I’ve tried every fucking thing, and there’s no sign of my kid.”

I wish I knew what to say to him, but I didn’t. Consoling someone was not one of my specialties. If I found the people who took Daniel, I’d cave their heads in. Leave their families with the need to be consoled.

“You know, he’s been missing for two weeks. Two weeks. It’s like he’s vanished into thin air without leaving a trace. How does something like this happen? To one of us?” Breaker continued.

“You can’t give up.” I told him. “We’ve got hackers searching sites. We’ve got bikes searching the streets. That kid has got to be somewhere; finding him will just take time.”

He rubbed a hand over his face and then pulled out his phone.

“There’s one thing I haven’t checked out, but I want to know what you think.”

Just from the fidgety look in Breaker’s eyes, I sensed he was about to tell me something I wasn’t going to like.

He had pulled out his phone because he wanted me to look at online videos on a vlogging platform.

“What fresh hell is this?” I asked while Breaker held the phone up in front of my face.

“It’s a channel called News Not to Miss. It’s run by a local girl who covers cases and reports on almost everything that goes on around Griffinsford.”

I narrowed my eyes as he started scrolling through the page. There was something about the chick, whose face I could see in the array of thumbnails flying in front of my eyes…
