Final Offer (Dreamland Billionaires #3) by Lauren Asher

“Make a wish.” Cami grins at me.

I shut my eyes and blow out the candles.

I wish for a healthy baby and healthy wife.

No matter how much I joke about having a boy, I don’t give a damn what the gender is, so long as Lana and the kid are safe.

Everyone claps and hoots. Lana begins cutting the cake for everyone.

“Psst.” Cami grabs my hand. “I want to show you something.”

I shoot Lana a look as Iris grabs Esme from my arms. My wife only offers me a small smile before returning to her task.

“What’s up, kiddo?” I allow Cami to lead me out of the dining room.

“I have a present for you.”

“What is it?”

Her eyes roll so hard, I’m afraid they might get lodged into the back of her head. I laugh as she leads me into the kitchen and passes me a manila envelope.

“What’s this?”

“Open it.” She gestures toward the envelope.

There is a slight tremble to my hands as I pull out a sheet of paper. My vision turns cloudy as I read the first line.

“You want me to adopt you?” I double-check the adoption papers to be sure.

She nods, her eyes looking as misty as mine probably do.

I ditch the papers and lift her into my arms. She might be getting a little too old for me to carry her, but I can’t help it. I still remember the days when she begged me to.

“Will you be my daddy? For real?” Cami blinks up at me.

I repeat the same words I told her three years ago. “There is nothing I’d like more.”

Lana pops out from the hallway where she was secretly recording the whole thing while holding Esme. Tears stream down her face, ruining her makeup.

I pull the three of them into a hug.

I thought I could never be happier than I was with Cami and Lana, but I was partially wrong. There is no way I could ever be happier than I am in this moment with the family I always dreamed of and the future I always wanted.

Saying goodbye to the Dreamland Billionaires is bittersweet. While I’m so proud of each of the Kane brothers for their personal growth, I am also sad to let the Kanes and their heroines go. This Dreamland world has changed my life in so many ways. It brought me new readers I care so much about and publishers who wanted to take a chance on me. But also, this series kept me company during some very difficult times in my life. It brought me comfort when I felt alone and provided me with an outlet to share a piece of my heart.

I hope you enjoyed this world. Like me, I hope it can bring you comfort when you need it and an escape whenever the real world gets a little too hectic to cope with.

Thank you for being a part of this journey and being part of the reason I pushed through when I doubted myself. Thanks for reading, sharing, and supporting me. And from the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me.

Until the next world!

Lauren

It truly takes a team of incredible people to help me pull off writing a book.

Mom—Writing about a dedicated mother came easy because you have always been the best role model and cheerleader for us. Thanks for helping me get through my writer’s block and inspiring me to write about something different.

Mr. FOF—Thanks for reminding me that the little romantic gestures are just as important as the big ones.

To Christa, Pam, and the rest of the team at Bloom Books—Thank you for making this release such a special one for me. Not only did you help me bring my story to the next level, but you also helped share with all of the United States and Canada. Seeing my books in physical stores was an experience I will cherish forever.

Anna and the team at Piatkus—Thank you for helping me share my stories not only with the UK and the British Commonwealth, but also the world. It truly has been the coolest experience to catch Piatkus editions of the Dreamland Billionaires all over the world.

Kimberly, Joy, and everyone at Brower Literary & Management—I appreciate your commitment to helping my books find new readers and guiding me through this wild publishing world.

Nina, Kim, and everyone at Valentine PR—You’ve made the process of releasing a book a complete breeze. I can always count on you to not only make me feel like family but help organize everything for me.

Becca—Calling you when I was 75% into my TFP draft and unsure about the product was one of the best decisions I have made. I’m so grateful that Erica saved the day for me and connected us because I value not only your incredible editing feedback, but also your heart. I’m happy to have you in my corner, pushing me in all the best ways.

Erica—I can’t believe we are closing out another series together. This one brought me a ton of laughs with you, from Henry Ford to Pizza Cal (and Matt’s voice notes about *those scenes*). I am grateful to not only have you as an editor, but also a friend.

Sarah—Working with you on my books has been the best experience. You’re someone I always look forward to emailing once I’m ready with a draft, knowing I can always count on you to give my manuscript and my characters your all.

Mary—To the day one, thank you. FOF calls you the goat for a reason, and it’s not only because of your graphic design skills, but also your commitment to bringing my stories to life.

Jos—I can always count on you to be a text or call away. You never blinked at my chaotic thoughts, and I appreciate your friendship and constant support throughout this process.
