Two Weeks Later

"I'mglad we did this twice," I murmur in Selena's ear. We're in the elevator, heading to the bridal suite. The day has been perfect, just like our other wedding day. My stunning wife is glowing. Her smile lit up the room all night, and I once again wonder how I ever lived without her by my side.

She glances up. "Me, too."

I steal a kiss, something I didn't get enough of all night. Then again, I'll never get enough. "You've made an old man happy."

A smile plays on her lips. "You aren't that old."

I snort. "Says the barely thirty-year-old."

"Hey, I'm thirty-one now."

"So old," I tease.

The elevator opens. I lead her to our suite and lock the door behind us. I admit, "I never thought someone would make me so happy."

Her sweet expression gazes up at me. She opens her mouth then shuts it. She bites on her bottom lip and strokes the side of my head.

"What are you thinking, baby girl?"

"Do you want kids?"

My pulse increases. I tug her closer to me. "Are you pregnant?"

"No. But I have to decide whether to get the shot again or not." The green in her eyes swirls with the brown.

"Since I'm forty-five, if I'm not shooting blanks, I'd be happy with little Selena's running around," I admit.

She laughs. "Highly doubt you're shooting blanks."

I shrug. "You never know. We probably should have talked about this before we got married though."

She tilts her head. "It wouldn't have changed my mind. I'd still have married you."

"You would have?"

"With no hesitation."

"I assume since you're asking me about this, it means you want kids?" I ask.

She stares at me, putting her thoughts together. I can always see her wheels turning when she does this. I wait until she says, "If we don't have kids, I'm okay with it. When I was with Jack, I was grateful he didn't want them. Now that I found you..." She smiles and traces my snake tattoo. "I'd like to try. If it happens, it happens. And if it doesn't, well, I'm still the luckiest, most loved woman in the world. And I'm okay with either scenario."

My heart swells. I couldn't have put it into better words. But I also have to push aside the rage I feel whenever Jack's name comes up. His company went public Friday. Selena said she isn't ready yet and wants to watch it burn to the ground first. She also claimed she didn't want anything taking our focus off the wedding, which I couldn't argue with. When I do end his life, I'm going to be there for days. Right now, I don't want to be away from her for a second.

I dip down and kiss her. "Guess we're going to have to practice a lot, then."

She wiggles her eyebrows. "Will it involve me kneeling?"

"Definitely."

"Will I get spanked if I'm naughty?"

I chuckle. "I can make that happen."

She rises on her tippy-toes and murmurs in my ear, "If you unzip my dress, I might have on something you like, sir."

Oh, my sexy, naughty wife.

"Spin," I command.

She obeys, and my phone rings. We both freeze. It's the tone I have for Adrian. He wouldn't call me if something weren't wrong.

I pull the phone out of my pocket. "Adrian, this better be important."

His voice sends a chill down my spine. "Darragh is dead."

My mouth goes dry. Goose bumps pop out on my skin.

"You know what this means," Adrian says.

I swallow the lump in my throat, unsure how I feel about my next statement. "Liam is now head of the O'Malleys."
