Push by Sadie Rose

“Please! Come on, it’s Friday night!” Madison said as she rummaged through my closet.

“Yes, which means I can stay in and relax and not have to get up early in the morning .” I had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach when I thought of walking into work on Monday. I had been walking on eggshells the rest of the week after my run-in with Roman on Tuesday. I wasn’t sure I could handle turning a corner in the building and him being there. Why did he have to be the head of Devereaux Industries? Oh, wait because he is Devereaux Industries. Madison had talked me down from a panic attack on Tuesday when I got home and regaled her with the story of how Hot Coffee Shop Roman was the founder of one of the hottest Fortune 500 companies. Madison didn’t know that I was having dirty dreams every night about Roman, though.

“You need to go out and have fun. You’ve had a crazy first week at your new job. Treat yourself!”

“No, it means I need to stay in and be refreshed for what’s to come on Monday,” I protested. “You’ll have tons of fun without me. You don’t need me.”

“Stop moping around, Ollie. Yes, Jeff was a douche who played you. Yes, mystery coffee shop man is some uber-rich genius who happens to be your boss and therefore undateable. But you’re forgetting about the third guy. The one from the meeting—Raymond. He sounds cute and fun.”

“I don’t want him to get the wrong impression. I don’t want to start anything.” Even as I said the words out loud, I knew I didn’t mean them. I would love to start something, anything right now, but with Roman. Madison just didn’t know he was consuming my thoughts. I’m sure if she did, she would give me her famous eye roll and tell me to toughen up and get back out there.

“Olivia Monroe, there is nothing you can say to me that’s going to get you out of going to this club. So get ready and put this on,” she punctuated this by throwing the clothes at me.

I knew she was serious the moment she said my full name. I rolled my eyes. “Okay. You win. But I’m not staying out past midnight.” I got up off my bed and undressed. Pulling on the satin purple slip dress I dug my best bra out of a drawer. I applied minimal makeup and slightly curled my sandy blonde hair to give it some texture and volume. I was putting on my heels as Madison came back into the room.

“Ollie, you look stunning, only one problem. I can see your bra.”

That’s one reason why I never wore this dress, the satin makes it nearly impossible to wear a good bra. And I need all the support I can get. The fact that Madison had rooted around my closest till she found this in the back was another sign to me that she desperately wanted us to go out tonight. “Too bad then people will just have to see it.”

“So don’t wear a bra.”

“Are you out of your mind? Do you know what I would look like with no bra?” I was too well endowed to never wear support. I wasn’t obscenely big, but I had too much to ever go without a bra in public.

“You have great tits, Ollie. Use the gifts that the good Lord gave you.” She was already laughing because she knew I found it hilarious when she referred to my breasts as gifts. I just shook my head and smiled at her.

“I’m not wearing this dress if I can’t wear a bra. Maybe this is a sign that I should stay home,” I quipped, the feeling of going out quickly waning.

She held up her hands in surrender. “Let’s go!” She shoved me past the mirror. I took a glance and then we were off to enjoy our evening. Even though I was a little self-conscious in the dress, I wanted to forget about this week and have a good time.
