After a while of being lost in our thoughts with one another, he received a phone call. I watched him pace around the room, rubbing the bridge of his nose in frustration.
“I told you I’ll be there,” he angrily said into the phone before walking over to my side of the bed and pressing his lips to mine. I found myself never wanting him to leave. I immediately responded by wrapping my arms around his neck in an attempt to not let him go.
“Shut up, Vincenzo. I’ll be there,” Valentino growled into the phone before hanging up. He pushed the blanket away from me and immediately grabbed onto my boob. His lips were quick to meet mine. I moaned as my hand wandered down to the button of his slacks.
“I have to go, Bambolina. I’ll be home soon, and I want you back in my room, no?” he stated before pulling away. He got me all hot and bothered on purpose, just to leave me hanging. Valentino probably thought it was humorous, but if only he knew it was far from that.
He pecked my lips. “See you soon.”
I could only watch as he walked out. Boredom loomed in every corner of the room. I found myself strolling around nosily as I looked through all of Valentino’s clothes and belongings.
With a sigh, I bent down and grabbed a pair of shorts. Valentino left his button-down shirt on the floor, so I took it upon myself to place it on. I loved the elegant smell of Valentino’s cologne. It made it easier to imagine his arms still wrapped around me.
Without a second thought, I headed over to the kitchen. The shirt almost reached my knees, but it was exactly what I loved about it.
When I entered the kitchen, I immediately noticed Orabella. She looked a lot calmer than she did the day I first met her.
Just as I was about to speak to her, the Don walked in. I watched as they seated themselves in the living room. It wasn’t difficult to pick up on the way the Don looked into her eyes. Anyone could easily see all of the adoration he had for her. I even enjoyed how he made it so visible. He had no shame in the world knowing how much he cared for her. I only wished Valentino were more like that.
“Will you please go tell Orabella that the food is ready?” Sarah asked me. I nodded in response.
“Never,” I could hear Orabella, leaning up to plant a kiss on his lips before hiding her face back into the crook of his neck. I was envious of them. It was everything I wanted, but it seemed like only a dream for me—a fairytale.
“Food is ready,” I said, walking in with a proud smile on my face. Orabella smiled sweetly which I followed with a wink. The Don’s eyes met mine, so I quickly walked back into the kitchen. He was scary. I think the most frightening part about him was his tattoos everywhere on his skin.
Suddenly, my gaze traveled over to the door to see Valentino walk in. I followed his stare as he observed his brother and Orabella. I could see his jaw clenching along with his clenched fists. My brows pulled together as I wondered what could possibly be going through his mind.
There was something I didn’t know about and I could just feel it. I remember how angry Valentino got when I almost left the house with Orabella, and how he seemed ready to murder his brother just now. My shoulders fell as I looked between Orabella and Valentino. I hoped nothing ever happened between them intimately.
Shaking my head, I decided to just let it go.
I was studying Valentino’s every move even as he began searching around the room until his eyes met mine. I noticed the smirk on his face once he noticed me. My eyebrow arched in question before I walked toward him.
“You’re wearing my shirt,” he said as his hand played with the button. Nodding my head, I looked down at it before raising my head back up to look into his eyes.
“It still smells like you.” I smiled innocently.
He chuckled before kissing my cheek, and then surprising me by continuing to plant kisses down my jawline. His arm circled around my waist as I could feel his tongue caress my skin.
Without warning, Vincenzo cleared his throat, leaving Valentino to pull away. Orabella giggled as my cheeks coated a light pink. Valentino rolled his eyes at his brother, leaving me a light chuckle to escape my lips. They acted like such normal siblings despite being the kings of organized crime.
“Have you eaten?” Valentino asked me. I shook my head when suddenly the loud sound of my stomach growling interrupted us.
“Good. Come with me,” Valentino ordered.
“Where? Should I get dressed?” I questioned. He smirked, grabbing onto my hand and basically dragging me out of the house and to his car.
The second we were in his vehicle, he grabbed me by my neck and pressed his lips against mine. He was kissing me like his life depended on it, and I’d be a liar to say it didn’t turn me on. My ability to not catch up made him groan as his tongue darted into my mouth.
Pulling away, he bit down on my lip, tugging at it. “I’ve been wanting to do that since I walked in.” He chuckled. I couldn’t help the smile that tugged on my lips at the sound of his words.
His hand came down to my thigh as he pulled out of the driveway. The huge smile never left my lips as I watched his beautiful face concentrate on the road.
