Hitman’s Secret by Rosa Mink

Chapter 11

Marko

Idon’t want to let Natalia out of my sight for one second but taking out both her father and Ono at the same time requires it.  Getting an anonymous tip out to him about her being here could bring a dozen others like me after her and I’ll take every single one of them out, no one will lay a hand on her.

I know her father is moving; I have eyes on him and he’s buying the kidnapping ransom entirely.  Natalia has the police on auto dial in case one of them gets out of the warehouse, but I have it rigged to blow before that happens.

I spot her from my hiding ground and open the radio channel.  “You okay, angel?”

“Yeah, I think I saw someone following me, but I wasn’t positive,” she warns, and I swear under my breath seeing the car heading slowly in after her.

“Get down, now,” I tell her when I see who it is.  “Out of the car and down on the ground on the other side, Natalia.”

She does what I tell her, and I know the SOB won’t have a clear shot this way.  He’s at the max distance for my rifle but I’ll take him out anyway, one little move and he’s dead.

He moves closer when he can’t find Natalia in his scope, and I pull my trigger watching the car slow but not stop.  It’s heading straight towards Natalia still and I tell her to move.  She doesn’t hesitate, and I love that about her.  Fuck…I love her.  It shouldn’t be possible.  I’m a bastard that’s incapable of love but I know it’s true.  I’ll kill anyone to keep her safe.

She ducks down in a spot no one can sneak up behind her and I have clear views of anyone heading towards her or coming up the two sides around her.  Anyone else tries to take her out and they’ll find themselves dead in an instant.

“Stay down low, out of sight, angel,” I tell her ten minutes later seeing vehicles approaching from opposite sides of the warehouse.

The first I can get a clear view of is her father, a briefcase and gun in the seat next to him, and the second is Ono.  The motherfucker actually fell for it, and they stop out of sight from each other, moving into the warehouse at the same time.  I have it rigged for sound and let it play out, waiting for the need to take them down myself.

“Where the hell is my daughter?” Leo demanded, his gun raised, the briefcase clutched in his other hand as Ono turned sideways as well, holding up his own.

“That’s what I’d like to know,” Ono stated.  “My man was supposed to take her out.”

“The way you did her mother?” Leo questioned him, and I swear knowing Natalia can hear this as well.

“He didn’t hesitate with her.  She was worth more to me than you’ll ever know,” Ono said with a laugh and Leo pulled the trigger, a bullet nicking Ono’s neck.  Ono returned the shot and Leo dropped the briefcase, clutching his shoulder.  Leo let it go to take another shot and this one hit Ono in the gut as his caught Leo’s arm, making him drop the gun.

Ono stalked towards him, holding onto his stomach and took a kill shot, splattering blood everywhere before he fell to his knees.  The gut wound was a through-and-through no bullet to find and I pulled my trigger, landing one between the eyes.

It stopped his guard from moving over to help after hearing the shots.  He looked around and I didn’t begin to risk him getting out of there.  No one was going to talk about this.

He dropped, and I moved down from my spot, heading towards where Natalia is.  I don’t know if she’ll still be there.  She might have run hearing what Ono and her father said and if she did, I’ll search everywhere to find her.
