Rejecting My Shifter Boss by Skye Alder

Ten Years Later…

“I can’t believeour mates finally let us get away together!” Everly says excitedly, and I grin.

“Me either. I thought Roman was going to stow away in my luggage,” I joke.

“Don’t be so sure that he didn’t,” Peyton teases as we toss our suitcases down on the hotel room beds.

The three of us went for a spa getaway. It’s supposed to be three days and two nights of relaxation for us, but getting our mates to agree to let us go without them was like pulling teeth.

I know they worry about us and want us to be safe, but we can take care of ourselves.

The kids are away at a shifter summer camp up in Montana, and the men still had to work, so this weekend seemed like the perfect time to go. I don’t want to admit it to my friends yet, but I really doubt that we’ll be able to make it through the whole weekend without them showing up.

“What should we do first?” Everly asks as she pulls her hair up into a ponytail.

“Pool?” I suggest. “Then we could grab dinner.”

“Sounds good! I’ll go get dressed in my room,” Peyton says and Everly nods.

Their rooms are right next door and when they leave, I pull out my swimsuit and get changed. When someone knocks on my door, I just assume that it’s the girls, and I head over to answer.

Instead, I open it to find Roman, his eyes filled with heat as he checks me out.

“You’re not going out in that,” he growls as he takes in my bikini.

“You’re not supposed to be here,” I say as I let him in.

“You think I could stay away from you?” he asks as he nuzzles against my neck, his fingers already going to work on the strings of my swimsuit.

“I’m supposed to meet the girls,” I pant as his mouth moves down my neck.

“Archer and Stryker came up here with me. If the girls were dressed like you, then I can guarantee they won’t be back to go swimming anytime soon.”

I huff out a laugh that turns into a moan as his mouth moves lower, capturing one of my nipples in his mouth as he backs me up to the bed.

It’s been a while since we had a room to ourselves, or a house to ourselves. With three kids running around, a pack to lead, and work, it seems like there’s always too much to do.

Part of me was hoping that he would show up here for some alone time with me. I only hope that the girls aren’t disappointed in the change of plans.

Although, if their husbands are doing what mine is right now, then I’m sure I won’t hear any complaints.

“So perfect, mate,” Roman growls against my skin and I writhe beneath him, thoughts of my friends and family and everything else disappearing as I get lost in my mate.

If you had asked me ten years ago where I saw myself in a decade, I probably would have said working some dead-end job or maybe still running from Isaiah, our father, and the cult. But thanks to this man, I have a life that I never even dared dream of.

He’s so good to me, to our kids, and I know he would do anything for us. I have a great house, the best family and friends, and a man that loves me more than anything.

It’s perfect, I think as I moan, letting Roman spread me out on the bed and have his way with me.
