Just For A Moment by Kate Carley

Acknowledgments

Granite Falls, an unassuming small town in the southwest corner of Minnesota, is the home to a rare treasure. One short visit changed my perception, and it’s definitely worth acknowledging.

The Fagen Fighters WWII Museum is not just a museum but a restoration shop for WWII aircraft and vehicles. Just paging through their website was not enough. Several months after writing my rough draft of Just For A Moment, I had the opportunity to visit.

I walked the museum floor and watched the aircraft mechanics working in the maintenance shop. At every turn I was thoroughly in awe of the antique flying machines in pristine condition—I mean scrubbed with a toothbrush kind of clean! I was equally surprised to learn that every aircraft displayed was airworthy, capable of flying to participate in airshows across the country.

If you’re ever in the area, stop in for a visit.
