The Last Second Chance by Lucy Score

Author’s Note to the Reader

Dear Reader,

Holy cow, you guys. Or goat, more accurately. Jax and Joey finally got their happily ever after. There was so much freaking history to wade through in their story, I hope you enjoyed how it all came together.

I was really nervous about including the essays from John Pierce in this story for three reasons. 1. He’s dead. 2. His wife is engaged to another man. 3. The book was already super long. But I wanted to give Jax, the perpetual black sheep of the family, a connection to his father that made him feel like he really fit, so I went for it.

I also had a blast writing Joey. At first, I thought she was going to be a really unlikeable leading lady, but she ended up being one of my favorites to write. Joey’s sarcasm and her abhorrence of socializing was oddly endearing to me, and I hope you felt the same about her.

Favorite scene: The rolling fart circus. I was almost hysterical while writing it.

Can’t get enough Blue Moon? Sad the Pierce brothers’ stories are over? But wait! There’s more! Not Part of the Plan will take you back to Blue Moon when Summer’s photographer friend Niko arrives for a much-needed sabbatical and decides to distract himself with Gia’s sister Emma, manager of the brewery. The only problem is Emma’s sworn off womanizing bad boys and has no interest in being anything but friends.
