Serpent of the Abyss by S.J. Sanders
Author’s Note
Thank you so much for returning to Seshana with me. This has been over a year in coming since so many people requested to see the original short story Serpent of the Abyss expanded, and I truly appreciate everyone’s patience during that time while Lori’s story had time to grow and develop.
Like with the short story, this originally started out as a m/f romance but with the nurturing bonds between herself and the other two males, and the hostile world surrounding them, it ended up growing into a reverse harem. This was unplanned and an unfortunate result was that there just simply wasn’t anyway to wrap up their story in a single novel that satisfied me. By the time Lori was rescued and joined with her mates the book was already quite long and we hadn’t even started to touch on the issue with the shinara, the reception of her pregnancy among his kind, or the conflict with Vekatha, because you know she’s not just going to let that rest. It is for this reason that Lori and her mates will be getting a second book in Serpents of the Night. This is entirely out of norm for what I planned for this series which was supposed to be a different planet for each book, but it needs to be done. Even more out of habit, next year I will be concluding Seshana’s story with Vi and Ehsash and a mystery male yet to be named.
What is else is coming for Darvel?
December I will be putting out a holiday novella! In both this book and Classified Planet: Turongal I mentioned a particularly pleasure-loving species, the Aturians. The Aturians have been exploited heavily in their relationship with United Earth, especially during the midwinter festivals. When a non-gratas assigned to a work detail on their planet falls into the hands of a bitter male, it will take some holiday magic for them to find their happily ever after.
As always if you enjoyed this book and want to read more from the Darvel series, please leave a review. Reviews are love. Thank you!
