The Cornish Princess by Tanya Anne Crosby
Afterword
I first came across Gwendolyn’s story in my research for another book and was gobsmacked by what I learned. Hers is the first account I ever read, historically speaking, of a strong woman, who kicked a cheating husband to the curb. But then, she raised an army to defeat him, taking his throne and crown to rule as Briton’s first Queen Regnant—talk about the wrath of a woman scorned.
However, while this book gives props to her, and I make every attempt to stick to the historical record, there’s no doubt I took a hard left turn into Fantasyland, incorporating many of the great legends of the British Isles, including the advent and eventual defeat of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Alas, there’s so much more I could (and want!) to say, but not wishing to spoil the fun, I’d rather you take this journey along with me. If you enjoyed book one, you don’t want to miss book two.
