Six Weeks of Seduction by Ellis O. Day

CHAPTER 20:  SARAH

“What are you talking about?” Sarah had no idea what was going on. Nick had been switching between wanting her and being pissed at her all evening. She straightened on his lap and inhaled sharply as she felt him shift inside of her. He had been mostly flaccid, but he was growing again. How was that even possible?

“Don’t play dumb.”

“I’m not. I have no idea what your problem is.” She started to crawl off his lap and he groaned, grabbing her hip and stopping her. She raised a brow in challenge.

His eyes flared but he moved his hand, pulled off the condom, and zipped up his pants as she sat on the seat next to him. The limo stopped.

“You’re a smart woman. Think about it.” He hopped out of the car and stopped at the driver’s window for a moment before heading into the gas station.

His clothes were rumpled and his hair was a mess. He looked like he’d just gotten out of bed. God help her, she wanted him again, but she wasn’t going to put up with this shit. She zipped up her dress, straightened her hair the best she could and opened the door.

“Um…miss.” The limo driver hurried to her side of the car. “Nick will be right back.”

“I don’t care.” She started walking toward the store.

“He wants you to wait here.” The driver trailed after her.

“I don’t care what he wants.” She walked into the store. She had little chance of getting him to tell her anything he didn’t want to inside that limo and she had even less than that once she got to his house. No matter how much she wanted answers and how much her mind didn’t want to be with him when he was treating her like crap, her body wanted him anyway it could get him. All he had to do was touch her and she was putty in his hands—the last time in the limo proved that.

He was purchasing several boxes of condoms when she strolled up to him.

“My God, how many do you think you’ll need?” The words were out before she even thought.

The clerk behind the counter chuckled. He was a young kid and she was pretty sure he wanted to high five Nick.

“What are you doing in here?” Nick wasn’t happy to see her.

“I want some answers or I’m going home.” She crossed her arms over her chest.

Nick’s eyes raked down her body, stopping at the juncture between her thighs. “I still have your present in my pocket.”

“I’m well aware of that.”

“You’re right. We need more.” He turned to the clerk. “We’ll be right back. I’m going to let my lady pick out the kind she likes best.” He grabbed her hand and dragged her to the back of the store.

“Let me go.” She tugged, but his grip was tight. “We don’t need more.”

He stopped by the condoms and pulled her in front of him. “Pick out the ones you want.”

His hand trailed up the back of her leg.

“Stop it.” She slapped at him. “That’s not why I came in here.”

He pulled her against him, his dick once again hard.

“Jesus, Nick. Again?”

“Yes,” he growled in her ear as his fingers skimmed across her abdomen and down between her legs.

“Oh.” She bit her lip. His touch felt so good, but not in here. “No.” She burst forward and to the side, taking him off guard. “Not like this. Not in here.”

The clerk was craning his neck to watch them, his hand behind the counter, probably stroking himself.

“Then wait for me in the car.”

“Don’t order me around.”

“Don’t push me, Sarah.”

“What’s the matter with you? Why are you so angry?”

He laughed, it was an ugly harsh sound and she almost cried. This wasn’t the Nick she knew.  She brushed past him. She was leaving.

He grabbed her arm. “You’d better be going to the car.”

“I’m going home. I can’t be with you when you’re like this.” She blinked back tears. She didn’t deserve to be treated like this.

He pulled her close. “You’re mine for the night.”

“No.”

“You agreed.” His hand went to her ass, skimming between her cheeks. “You want this. You want me.”

She trembled because she did want him. “Not like this.”

“Like anyway I want.” His fingers slid between her legs, exploring and caressing. “Remember that.” He swatted her ass. “Now, be a good girl and go to the car.”

“You’re a jackass.” Her hand itched to slap him.

He pulled her close again and kissed her, it was soft and coaxing, exactly what she hadn’t expected. She was so surprised that she didn’t even struggle and before she could stop she was melting against him.

He broke the kiss, his lips still close. “Please go to the car and wait for me.”

His eyes were warm now. This was the Nick she remembered.

“Tell me why you’re so mad at me.” No matter how much her body wanted him, she couldn’t go with him if he were going to keep running hot and cold.

His face tensed again and his lips thinned. “You really have no idea?”

She shook her head.

“How can you…Forget it.” He ran his hand through his hair. “Please, wait for me in the car.”

“I can’t go home with you unless you tell—”

“I’ll fucking tell you later.”

“Promise.”

“Yes. You have my word.” His jaw clenched. “Now, please go to the car.”

She trusted him and she wanted this night too much to leave without giving him a chance to come clean. She turned and went back to the limo.

When he climbed inside the car a few minutes later he sat on the seat across from her, his dark eyes studying her.

“So?” She’d waited long enough and his gaze was making her skin tingle.

“What?”

“You said you’d tell me what was bothering you.” She’d thought about it and was pretty sure he was angry about the boyfriend he thought she had. She could confess that she didn’t have one, but it was none of his business. He’d had tons of women since her. It wasn’t fair for him to be mad that she’d met someone—even though she hadn’t. That was the truly pathetic part. She had no one and there was no way she was going to admit that to him.

“And I will. Later.”

“When?” She crossed her arms over her chest and his eyes dropped to her breasts.

“When I’m ready.”

“I’m not going home with you until…”

The car stopped.

“Too late.” Nick smiled.
