Jasper

Last night,I barely made it through the movie sitting next to Trinity on the couch. Her smell is intoxicating and brings my desire for her to an even higher level. After a rough night where all I did was dream of her, when I woke up with the knowledge that she’s right across the hall, I got up and got busy.

I feed Max and let him out.

I call my assistant and ask him to please make sure that Trinity’s car is towed to the mechanic and gets fixed as soon as possible.

After that’s done, I start breakfast. My thoughts stray to Trinity and how refreshing she is. After women constantly throwing themselves at me, it’s nice to find one that doesn’t seem to be after me for my fame or money. I get it she’s worried, but I’m willing to prove to her the type of guy I am. I am the guy that’s in it for the long haul. I’ve never been the type to sleep around with just anyone. I’ve been searching for someone to spend my life with, and even though we just met, I can’t help but wonder if we could be more. I can wait for sex; it doesn’t have to be now.

I get the turkey bacon started and pull out eggs from the refrigerator. I’m not sure what she likes, but I figure I can’t go wrong with bacon and eggs.

I finish cooking and plate the food. When I turn around from the counter, she’s leaning in the doorway, watching me, with Max at her side. My dog seems to have good taste in women. I smile at her. She’s still wearing my T-shirt and she looks even better than she did in the dream I had of her the night before. It’s long, hanging almost to her knees, and covers all of her body, but just the thought that it’s my shirt covering her soft skin makes my heartbeat pick up a little. Keep it together, Jasper.

I stifle my longing and walk toward the table in the connected dining room. “Breakfast is ready.”

She follows behind me and sits down at the chair I’m holding out for her. “So you cook too?”

I shrug my shoulders. “Yeah. I sort of have to if I want to eat.” I grab the orange juice carafe off the counter and bring it over, pouring us each a drink. When I sit down, she is looking at me with confusion on her face.

The corners of her lips lift. “Well, if this is as good as it looks, you just might be every woman’s dream come true.”

As soon as she says it, her face flushes a deep red. Instead of calling out her flirtatious words, I let her know I had her car towed. “It’s at my mechanic’s. We’ll pick it up in a few hours.”

She’s bringing a piece of bacon up to her lips and stops. “You really shouldn’t have gone to so much trouble, Jasper. I fully intended on taking care of it.”

I take a bit of food, weighing her words. Obviously she’s used to doing things on her own. I look at her, wondering how she would feel if she knew I wanted to help her.

“All you have to do is say ‘thank you.’” I take a bite and then push her plate toward her. “Eat up.”

She takes a few bites and I can see that her brain is working a mile a minute. We talk about the day, my practice and her having the day off. But I can tell something else is on her mind.

She finishes her food and grabs both of our plates, taking them back to the kitchen. I follow behind her. “I got the dishes.”

She sets them in the sink and turns around, but she must not realize how close I am because when she holds her hand up, it’s right against my chest. I try not to smile as she grips onto the front of my shirt, her fingers curling into me.

“No, I got them. You cooked, after all.” She turns back around quickly, rotating the nob on the faucet.

I stand behind her, looking at my name on her back. I want to reach out to her; it’s like her body is a magnet and I want to be next to her. I know I’m in her space, but I can’t bring myself to back away. “I’ll help.”

She nods her head, and I grab a towel to start drying. “So we have a few hours until your car’s ready. Is there anything you need to do?”

Trinity

I spentthe whole night tossing and turning in his big spacious bed. Regret filled me and it’s even worse today. I want him like I’ve never wanted anything in my life. Every second I spend with him makes me want him more.

He asked me what I want to do. I should run. I should go and never look back. But that’s not what I want. What I want just cooked me breakfast and is now drying the dishes. What I want took care of getting my car fixed. I hand over the last dish and turn to him. “What do you want to do?”

I’m looking him right in the eye. He sets the plate down on the counter and then reaches for my hands. He pulls me to him until I’m flat against his chest. “I really like you, Trinity.”

Whatever I thought he was going to say, it wasn’t that. But his words cover me like a soft, warm blanket. “I like you too.”

He leans down and as soon as his lips touch mine, it hits me. My life will never be the same. I thought I was living, but whatever that was wasn’t living. This is almost like I’m flying and I have my whole life before me. His hands go around my waist and he pulls me in even closer to him. My mouth opens and he deepens the kiss. The taste of him on my tongue filtrates my system and I gasp, pulling away from him. “Oh my,” I say with my hand over my mouth.
