Forceful Biker Daddy by Scott Wylder

CHAPTER THREE

Annie

I hated to admit it, but Blake was right. I didn't have a choice. I got lucky in the woods earlier, but my luck would soon run out. I didn't know if I could trust Blake yet, but at least he wasn't looking to shoot me outright like the Demons. "Why would my brother come to you guys?"

"Because we're the only ones who could come close to taking down the Demons," he said as he cleaned my wound. His hands were firm and strong, but surprisingly gentle. I hated how good they felt.

"I've never heard of you," I said.

"Axle never talked about his work much, did he?"

I shook my head. "No, he wanted to keep it away from me as much as possible." A horrible thought occurred to me. What if the Hell's Renegades killed my brother? He was a Demon, after all and apparently the Hell's Renegades were their rivals. "Axle, is he alright? What did you do to him?"

"Easy, kitten," he murmured. He wrapped a clean bandage around my arm. I flinched a little as he did so but it felt a lot better once it was wrapped snugly in a clean bandage. "Your brother's fine. We don't automatically kill people who come asking for our help."

I shook my head. None of this was making sense. "Why would he even come to you guys? Why did he flip on the Demons?"

"Your brother is that loyal to them?"

"No, he hates them. He always has, but he would do anything to keep me out of their brothels."

Blake studied me as if trying to decide if I was telling the truth or not. Finally, he looked away. "The Demons kidnapped a woman off the streets. He was ordered to rape her. Apparently, that was too much for him because he broke out of there with the woman and came to us for protection."

I nodded because made sense. I smiled slightly. Axle was a good guy. I was glad he flipped on the Demons, even if it meant I was on the run right now. "Where is he? And the woman? Are they both okay?"

Blake nodded. "They're in a safe house. Only Hell's Renegade members know where they are now.

I breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank god. "

"You care about your brother, don't you?”

"Of course I care about my brother! He's the only family I have left." I glared at him. "It's not like he wanted to join the Demons, you know. He was fifteen when he did and he had to take care of me. Our parents kicked us out so it was either join them or be homeless." I argued.

"You don't have to convince me, kitten. I hate the Demons as much as anyone else, but a man willing to risk his life to save a stranger and his sister can't be all that bad." He turned and handed me the granola bar. "Here, eat. I'll go order some real food. Why don't you wash up and get comfy?"

I nodded. A shower sounded really good. So did real food. "Okay."

He smiled at me. "Good girl."

I hated how happy those two words made me.

After eating my last granola bar, I went into the bathroom and stripped out of my dirty clothes. I breathed a sigh of relief, happy to have them off me. Dirt and leaves got into my shirt when I was hiding in the woods and it irritated my skin. I turned on the water and stepped into the shower. I was too tired to stand, so I sat on the floor and washed myself as best I could. The warm water felt soothing and comforting. After the terrifying events of the day, it felt almost like a pleasant dream.

I closed my eyes and dozed with the warm water running over me. I was so zoned out; I didn't hear the knocking on the door or Blake calling my name. When he opened the door, I was brought back to the present.

Startled, I tried to jump up, but I slipped and clattered into the wall.

"Annie!" Strong arms wrapped around me and caught me before I fell. I looked up to see Blake holding me, a concerned look on his face. "You weren't answering," He said. "I thought something had happened to you."

I blushed and tried to pull away, feeling very aware of him touching my naked body. He held firm as he turned off the water. "I'm sorry," I said. "I guess I just didn't hear you."

"Just pay a little more attention next time." He grabbed a nearby towel and wrapped it around my shoulders. "The food is here. I ordered some chili and hot tea from a local diner for you."

Hot chili sounded wonderful. "Thank you," I said. I tried to reach for my clothes but he stopped me.

"I'm not going to let you put on dirty clothes, kitten." He moved the towel aside to run his fingers down a small rash on my rib cage, just under my breast. I flinched under his touch, but he didn't seem to notice. "I'm pretty sure the dirt in your clothes caused that. I'm not going to let you make it any worse."

I found myself nodding and following him out of the bathroom. I wasn't sure what it was, but something made me want to obey him.
