Luna Rising by Sloane Murphy

Chapter One

I’m not sure if this is justice or revenge, but I don’t care either fucking way.

My wolf clamps her jaw around his throat, and he whines beneath me, but I can’t find it in myself to care. He took one of the most precious things in the world from me. We’ve been through so much just to end up here.

My jaw tightens around his throat, teeth sinking into quivering flesh without remorse. The coppery taste of blood coats my tongue, fueling the fury that's swelling to a fever pitch within my body, and I sink my teeth deeper. I feel the give of the flesh, the muscles and sinew pulling away from his throat with a satisfying ripping noise, and I yank as the fury takes me over. I tear his fucking throat out, breaths panting in waves around the flesh clenched in my teeth. I drop it to the ground, howling my anger before turning away—leaving him to bleed out on the ground at my feet.

I feel the blood dripping from my fur, and a deep shiver courses through my body. Rage coils in my belly as I fight to not lose myself to my wolf. This is the last time they’ll try to take what is mine, and if I have to be soaked in blood to prove it, then that's what I’ll do.
