“Thank you, Headmaster Pierce.”
I hang up the phone with Cam’s mom, the headmistress of Deadwood Academy. They had an Omega who came to the academy and was rejected by her Alpha mate. Pondering over everything she had said that Omega had gone into heat and she was having some difficulties.
The urge to claim Honey is becoming harder to resist, especially since her smell is changing rapidly with every mate she claims. I know she has mated two now. I try to stay away from her as much as my instincts will allow.
Eating in the dining hall is always the hardest. Sitting with the other teachers, I can always see when Honey comes in to eat. She constantly has her new mates with her, looking at them with so much love it sends pangs of jealousy through me that I am not one of them. The smell coming from her is enough to make my jaw drop and my fangs descend. I always have to make an excuse to leave early so I don't embarrass myself.
When there is a knock on my door, I don’t bother to find out who it is before I let them in.
“Headmaster Branch, thank you for seeing me.”
My cock stiffens with her words and I grit my teeth to prevent myself from acting foolishly. I slowly raise my eyes to see Ronnie and Cam standing with Honey.
“Miss Heart, how can I help you today?” I clench my fists, resisting the urge to reach out and lay her bare on my desk and fuck her hard, playing out all the dirty images running through my head.
“We’ve come to register as a mated bond.” She stands silently eyeing me, while Cam is behind her looking right at me smirking.
That little shit knows.
“Ah, very well. I am glad you are finding your mates, Miss Heart.” I reach into the side desk to fill out the forms and look through my cabin docs to find one available. “I see we haven’t had many mate pairings this year, but we have a two-story mate cabin available, there are seven rooms.”
Her eyes go wide in alarm. “Headmaster, I only need a three bedroom; you don’t have to give me that big one.”
“I understand your concern, Honey, but you may end up with more mates and would need room for them.” I look at Cam who quickly looks down, so there is something he knows that they aren’t telling me. “Just fill out the paperwork and I will give you the keys. One of the staff members will arrange for all your belongings to be brought to your new home while you are here.”
She reaches to take the paperwork and begins to fill it out. When she is finished, she hands me the paperwork back with an enormous smile on her face.
“Very well, Honey, congratulations again. Here is the key to your new residence while you attend the school.”
“Thank you, Headmaster.” She grabs the keys from me and excitedly grabs Ronnie’s hand. They walk out of my office while Cam lingers behind.
“Can I help you, Mr. Pierce?” I steeple my fingers, getting irritated. I want to mate Honey and can’t, so my patience is at a low point right now.
“I may be overstepping here, Headmaster, but you’re going to have to tell her. Eventually, she will figure it out.”
With that, he walks out the door and I see Honey leap into his arms. Jealousy strikes me again, I can admit that I want what he has, more so who he has.
Long after she leaves, I can still smell her scent.
