There has never been a day this woman has not been the center of my world, and after all these years, Bria still is. Just her, forever her for me. All I have ever been was hers and meant to love her. I acknowledged and accepted a long time ago one life with her would never be enough. I want more, but regardless, I would follow her wherever the next adventure would lead us.
Her eyes shine with the same love in them like the first time she glanced at me too many years ago to recall how it all began. She has been the best wife a man could have wished for and the best mother to our now grown-up children who have families of their own. She’s a philanthropist, a survivor, a woman who led two international companies, but above all, mine, my woman, my home, the love of my life.
I tuck a gray-blond strand of her hair away and lose myself in those hazel eyes of hers that never allowed me to forget it’s only her who has ruled over my heart.
I rest my head on her chest, indulging to hear her heartbeats.
“I love you.”
“I love you more, Damien. It feels as if I’ve loved you since the beginning of me, and I’ll love you until the end.”
“Still trying to top me.” Her mouth that I’ve kissed every day, and it still wasn’t enough, curves up. This has always been my number one priority, to make her smile too many times to count in a day. I believe I succeeded. “If you had one free wish left, what would it be?”
“For you to marry me again.” She smiles, and before my eyes a memory of two kids who will love each other despite everything passes by. My lips arch up, knowing what to ask next.
“What if you don´t like me then?”
“You´ll just have to make me like you.”
“Just like that?”
“Yes, that easy.”
“Then, one day I´ll marry you again.”
“Promise.”
I press our hands together over my heart with our pinkies interlinked like all those years ago, and I say, “I promise.”
