Unexpected Lovers Box Set by J.B. Heller

My body is deliciously sore, and my smile is a permanent fixture as we eat a late breakfast in the restaurant the following morning. I’m sipping my coffee when Spencer plops down in the chair beside mine and throws his big, muscular arm around the back of my seat.

Sebastian glares at Spence as he snatches a chunk of strawberry from my plate and pops it in his mouth. He chews slowly and deliberately, a smirk on his handsome face.

I elbow him in the ribs. “Knock it off,” I hiss.

His eyes sparkle with mischief, then he swallows and says, “I’ve been waiting for your call. I’m guessing the absence of it means you, unfortunately, sorted things out with Bash.”

The man in question grabs my chair and drags it closer, making Spencer’s arm fall. He replaces it with his own. “Asshole,” Sebastian grumbles, glaring at Spence.

I turn in my seat, snuggling my back into the crook of Sebastian’s arm. “Thanks for last night, Spence. I really appreciate you looking out for me.”

He winks. “Anytime, baby doll,” he says then pushes back to his feet. “I’m sorry I didn’t keep the she-devil away. I’ll make it up to you with my amazing dance moves at the wedding tomorrow.”

I snort at the same time Sebastian scoffs, “Not fuckin’ likely.”

Spencer backs away from our table, a grin on his face as he ribs Sebastian one last time. “Aw, don’t be like that, brother. It ain’t my fault the ladies love me.” Then he spins around and weaves his way through the tables to one on the other side of the room where a pretty blonde is waiting for him.

It’s then that my gaze snags on Storm in what looks like a heated discussion with Jayla. Jake is at her side, his brows drawn in and a sneer marring his attractive face. I nudge Sebastian with my elbow then flick my chin in their direction. “What’s happening there?” I ask.

His body tenses, and my eyes dart to his face. He’s scowling as he pushes to his feet, and I grab his arm, concern washing over me. He pauses, glancing down. “I’ll be right back,” he says then drops a quick kiss to my temple before he strides away.

He steps up on the other side of his twin, but I’m too far away to hear what’s being said. Not that I have a right to know, but I can’t shake the feeling it has something to do with me. And that sucks balls—I’m causing friction on Storm’s big weekend.

Great way to make a good impression on the guy you like’s family, Emory.

Gnawing on my bottom lip, I anxiously watch the exchange. Then, like she can feel my gaze on her, Jayla’s glare lands on me, and oh my god, the woman has a terrifying death stare. But I hold it. I’ve never been one to back down from a staring competition.

Sebastian snaps something at her, and she relents, shifting her attention to him. A few more words are exchanged, and Jayla waves her hand in my direction. Then she storms out of the restaurant, some dude I hadn’t noticed before hot on her heels.

Storm and Sebastian face each other as Jake wraps his arms around Storm from behind. Their expressions are tense as they talk quietly, and I’m sure she’s telling him that I should leave. Then, all three sets of eyes turn to me, and they head over to where I’m patiently waiting to be told I’m a troublemaking cow who’s no longer welcome.

But, to my utter shock, Storm smiles at me as though she’s trying to reassure me. I frown as she takes the seat Spencer vacated just a few short minutes ago. I lick my lips and open my mouth to speak, but she shakes her head, silencing me.

“If you’re about to apologize, don’t,” she says.

And that was not at all what I was expecting.

She grins at me and takes my hand in hers. “I’m the one who’s sorry. I should have done something about Jay’s shitty attitude a long time ago, but I was holding on to a friendship that wasn’t really worth fighting for anymore,” she says, a hint of sadness shining in her eyes that are so much like her brother’s it’s kind of creepy.

I have absolutely no idea what to say to her. None. So, I don’t say anything. Instead, I lean forward and wrap my arms around her. She accepts the comfort I’m offering, lifting her arms to circle me too.

After a moment, she pulls away, her usual smile back in place. “Jay won’t be a problem anymore. I asked her to leave,” she explains then rolls her eyes. “I should have uninvited her when she pulled her shit with Bash, trying to force him into getting a real job,” she says, and I’m not the only one stunned by her words.

Sebastian steps up, placing a hand on Storm’s shoulder. She looks up at him, and he shakes his head in disbelief. “How did you know about that?”

The glint in her eyes is fiercely protective as she arches a brow at her brother. “So, I’m right? And you didn’t tell me?”

“I—” he says, fumbling for words.

“I suspected, but you never mentioned it. Then she said something the other day at the picnic that confirmed my suspicions.”

Sebastian grins at her, and I’m pretty sure they’re having a weird, silent, twin conversation with just their eyes. Then he shakes his head, his smile growing. “Okay, fine. You’re a smartass, and we all know it. Now, what are you going to do about the absence of a maid of honor for the ceremony tomorrow?”

She turns her gaze on her fiancé, who nods once, then she says, “I’m going to ask Jolene to stand in Jay’s place.”

Aww, how lovely is that.

“She’ll love that,” Sebastian says, nodding.

“If you need help getting ready or anything tomorrow, let me know,” I say to her as she stands.

She smiles, and that, too, is much like her brother’s. “I’d like that,” she says. “Bash knows where to go.” And with that, she and Jake leave us, making a beeline right for his mother.

The rest of the day is ours, so naturally, we spend it in our cabin, naked.

The day of the wedding,I’m filled with a sudden and unexpected case of nerves. I’m giving my sister away today. Handing her over to another man to officially let him be the one to take care of her from here on out.

I love Jake, but damn if I’m not having second thoughts about all this. Storm and I have been a unit from day one; it’s hard not to be when you’re twins. Our connection is stronger than any other relationship I’ve had in my life, and I don’t know how to step back from that. Hell, we still live together.

Standing under the spray of the hot shower, I run my hands through my hair, hoping it will ease my tense muscles. My body feels heavy and my chest tight as my mind fixates on thoughts that have never even entered my head before.

What if Storm doesn’t need me anymore? What if she decides to put the girls in daycare and kick my ass out now that she’s a married woman? What if, what if, what if…

I can’t do this.

A pair of slim, pale arms circle my waist, and a soft body presses into my back. Emory.

“You okay?” she asks softly.

No, I am not fucking okay, and I don’t know if I ever will be again,is what I want to say. But instead, I nod. Where the hell is all this coming from?

She rests her forehead between my shoulder blades and brushes her lips over my skin, then her tongue flicks out, licking water droplets from my flesh. I shiver, and my dick hardens. How the hell am I getting turned on right now?

Emory makes her way around my body, her mouth on me the whole time, until she’s in front of me. She tips her head back, her gorgeous blue eyes holding me captive, and I drop my mouth to hers.

Tension leeches from my body as her tongue tangles with mine. Her hands grab my ass, and she breaks the kiss, lowering herself to her knees. Our gazes are locked as she wraps one hand around my aching dick then leans forward, taking me into her wet, warm mouth that feels like heaven and wipes everything that isn’t her from my mind.

I come so hard and so embarrassingly quickly that I see stars. My hand shoots out to steady myself against the shower wall as she gets back to her feet and brushes her lips along the edge of my jaw. Then she reaches for the body wash, pumps some into her hands, and soaps me down.

She’s taking care of me, and it feels better than anything else ever has. I still as her palms skim over my body, and my heart pounds rapidly behind my ribs. I’m sure she can feel it, and when she pauses, her fingers splaying out right over the top of it, her eyes meet mine, and I know she does.

A smile tugs at her lips, and she pushes onto her tiptoes, bringing her lips to the pulse point in my throat. “I thought the BJ would have calmed you down, but you’re still on edge,” she murmurs against my skin. “Are you nervous about today?”

“I was,” I admit.

Pulling back, she beams at me then waggles her brows. “But I successfully distracted you.”

I chuckle. “That’s one way of putting it. Feel free to distract me like that anytime you want.”

With her curves flush against my body and the look of satisfaction in her gaze, my dick decides he’s ready for round two. I wrap my arms around her small waist, my eyes eating up every inch of her that they can. Her perky tits rise and fall with each inhalation. Her perfect nipples harden as they slide against me, and I relish the feel of her flesh against mine.

Heat blooms in her cheeks, and her tongue snakes out to lick her bottom lip. “That’s some pretty impressive recovery time you’ve got there,” she breathes, reaching between us and stroking my rapidly growing erection.

I smirk like the cocky bastard I am when it comes to my skills in the bedroom. “That’s not the only impressive thing about me,” I tell her then slide my hands down the slick skin of her back. I pause at her perfect ass, giving it a quick squeeze before gripping her thighs and lifting her.

I pin her against the cool tiles. She wraps her arms around my neck and slams her lips over mine as I line up then thrust inside her. We moan into each other’s mouths, and I waste no time taking us both to the edge of oblivion then right over it.
