Her Striker by Charlene Raquel

Chapter Nineteen

Gwen was fuming. What was Drew thinking to want to go along with an initiation into a crazy, scary, secret society? Dean was completely in agreement that it was the only way for them to get inside information. They were both insane.

Gwen and Drew ended up by the lake again, but this time, Gwen hadn’t allowed herself to get wrapped up in the atmosphere. Drew was great at distracting her and if she didn’t watch, he would kiss her, and then she wouldn’t remember why she was angry with him.

During their last trip, they had traveled the path together, both brushing up against each other, holding hands. This time, several feet separated them as they traversed the jogging trail.

“Are you talking to me yet?” Drew had suggested they take a walk so that they could chat without an audience, but so far, she hadn’t uttered a word. He considered just grabbing her and kissing the shit out of her but with the daggers her eyes were shooting his way, she would probably clobber him. His Gwen always had a wicked temper, and it seemed that was still true.

Gwen jerked to a stop and faced him. “I’m trying to decide if you’re crazy or have a death wish.” She threw her hands up. “I just got you back, and you want to join a group who have probably killed at least five people in the past couple of years. I’ve missed you, Drew. I cried myself to sleep for months after you left. Sam thought I was homesick and terrified to be alone, which I was a little. But, it was because my heart was ripped out of my chest. It took me almost a year to function somewhat normally. I can’t lose you again.”

Drew gathered her into his arms and held her against his muscular chest. “I missed you too. So much. I’m not going to do anything to mess up our second chance. There is no way anyone is going to prevent me from coming back to you. I just need to play along a little bit. They will screw up, and I’ll be there to catch them.”

“They’ll be watching you. You were already kidnapped once!”

Drew winced. He never should have told her what happened to him that night, but he knew if they were going to work things out, he needed to be completely honest with her. “Nothing is going to happen to me. I’ve got you, Dean, Sam, and Dean’s brother watching out for me. I need to do this. I need to find out who killed Landon.” He rubbed his hands up and down her back.

Gwen pulled back to look up at him. “Dean’s brother is watching your back? How?”

Drew brushed her blond hair back off her cheek. “He’s sort of unofficially investigating the deaths here. You can’t tell anyone. He’s recovering from an injury, so his commanding officer told him to keep himself busy while recuperating.” Drew kissed her forehead. “He’s our history professor.”

“His commanding officer? Is he in the military?”

“Yeah. Special Forces, although he will deny that. Believe me, the man is badass.”

“Sam told me that Dean pulled a martial arts move on a couple of jerks at the diner that was pretty cool. She said the jerk was on the table with his arm behind his back so fast she almost missed it.”

Drew laughed. “Dean’s brother, Jeff, is even better. I’ve seen them mess around, and Jeff can get Dean flat on his back in seconds.”

“I’m glad he’s here, but it’s still dangerous. You already admitted that that guy, Adrian, doesn’t trust you. He and Parker were definitely up to something at that event. Why did they bring us together? What are they up to? You admitted that you thought that they are probably in the Scorpio Society.”

“Please trust me. I’ll be careful. I promise.”

Gwen hugged Drew. “Will you make sure Jeff knows what’s going on?”

“Of course. You’re stuck with me now.” Drew brushed his mouth across hers, pulling on her lower lip, sucking on it before nibbling on the top one. He loved teasing her.

Gwen opened up to his gentle attack and kicked it up a notch. Her tongue thrust into his mouth, and his playtime was finished.

Drew moved his hands down to her butt, giving her a squeeze, as he brought her tightly against his chest and her hips flush with his. He knew she could feel his solid length when she pressed closer to him.

Her hands slid beneath his shirt, sliding over the hard muscles of his back.

Drew joined in the exploration, gliding up the soft skin of her stomach to the edge of her bra. He kept his hand there for a few seconds to see if she would stop him.

He took Gwen’s hands roaming over his skin as permission enough to continue. Drew’s fingers journeyed under her bra to cup her breast, gently squeezing and massaging her. Her nipple instantly pebbled under his skilled hand.

She gave a small moan when he pulled her shirt up and replaced his fingers with his mouth. Gwen ground against him, while he pulled the bud between his teeth, sucking and teasing. He kissed across to the other breast, giving that nipple the same attention.

Gwen’s hands fell to the waist of his jeans, freeing the button and pulling the zipper down to spring him loose. He groaned into her mouth as she gripped her hand around him and ran her fingers up and down his hard length. Stroking him like she did years ago, like she knew he loved. It had been too long without him.

Drew’s other hand came around from squeezing her ass to slide inside the front of her shorts and into her lace panties. His fingers found her wet with desire as he began to rub her slick folds.

Drew claimed her mouth again, but this time in a frantic, demanding kiss. Their tongues dueling and swirling in time to their intimate rhythm.

Voices drifted from nearby and Drew pulled away with a curse. “Shit.”

Gwen was so completely caught up in Drew that she began to protest when he withdrew his fingers. “Why’d you stop?”

Drew shifted them farther into the trees, blocking them from the path. “Shhh.” He pulled her shirt down in place and attempted to stuff his hard and aching cock back into his jeans. It was going to be painful to walk.

Gwen’s eyes grew large as she heard the joggers chatting as they passed. “Oh.” She shifted her bra back into place and smoothed her hair. They were almost caught going at it just steps off the trail.

Drew pulled her back into his arms and rested his forehead against hers as he tried to catch his breath. “We needed to stop anyway or else you’d find yourself against a tree with your legs wrapped around my waist.”

She giggled. “It wouldn’t have been the first time we were almost discovered like that.”

Drew took his hand and rubbed between her legs over her capris, continuing until she swayed and gave a little moan. As soon as she made a sound, he pulled away from her.

Gwen’s heart beat rapidly in her chest. “You did that on purpose.”

“What? Kissed the hell out of you? Almost made you come?” Drew gave her a cocky grin. He wondered what would have happened if the joggers hadn’t come by when they did.

“No. You distracted me. I was mad at you.” Gwen shivered thinking about how close they had come to having sex in the woods. She was torn between being disappointed they stopped and glad they hadn’t been caught.

“You didn’t seem mad at me a few seconds ago.” He leaned close and bit her earlobe lightly. “We can go back to your place. I’m sure Sam is still hanging out with Dean.”

Gwen stepped back from him. She needed to put some space between them so she could concentrate. He made it difficult. “We need to head back and plan. If we only have two days, we have a lot to do.”

Drew groaned and adjusted his jeans. He wasn’t going to get any relief from the pressure his zipper had on his dick. “Okay, Sunshine. Let’s head back.”
