Tempting Him by Isabel Lucero

Right around thetime we’re finishing our relatively quiet, late night dinner, I decide to speak up. “Wanna play a game?”

He shoots me a curious look. “Game?”

“I’ll ask you some questions, and you answer.”

“Doesn’t really sound like a game.”

“Rapid fire. You can’t think. Just answer.”

He exhales, putting his fork down. “Okay.”

“Favorite color?”

“Gray.”

I snort. “Favorite drink?”

“Bourbon.”

“Favorite hobby?”

He hesitates and I gesture for him to hurry.

“Sex.”

I laugh. “Really?”

He shrugs, a grin pulling on his lips.

“Okay. Favorite guilty pleasure?”

Once again he pauses. “Butterfingers.”

“The candy?”

He nods. “They’re good.”

“I’m not into chocolate. I like Skittles and Starburst.”

“You gonna answer the other questions, too?”

“Not yet. Okay, favorite movie?”

“Scarface.”

“Dogs or cats?”

“Dogs, I guess.”

“Books or movies?”

“Books.”

“Men, women, or both?”

He levels me with a look, but then sighs. “Men.”

“Had your heart broken before?”

“No.”

“Been in love?”

“No.”

“Really?”

“I don’t like where this game is going,” he says, standing up.

“Okay, I’m sorry. Ask me anything you want.”

He stops at the bar where he pours himself a drink. I shift under his intense gaze as his eyes swallow me up.

“Does our age difference bother you?”

“No,” I answer honestly. “Does it bother you?”

His head moves marginally, like he isn’t really sure.

“Are you fucking anybody else?”

My brows nearly reach my hairline, shocked by his question. I was curious about this exact thing earlier, but didn’t think for a second he’d ask.

“Not currently.”

“If we’re fucking, I don’t want have to worry about catching anything. If we’re doing this, I don’t want you with anybody else.”

I sink my teeth into my lip. “I love this possessiveness, Mr. Drakos.”

“I’m not playing, Jayden.”

“Okay, okay,” I say, holding my hands up. “I haven’t been with anyone since I’ve been with you, and before you, there had been a bit of a break. I’m going to assume you aren’t fucking anyone either?”

He takes a drink. “I don’t know anybody but the employees.”

“Clearly employees aren’t off limits.”

“You aren’t official yet.”

“Semantics.”

“I’m not fucking anyone,” he bites. “Only you.”

“Good.”

“Just because I’m breaking one of my rules, doesn't mean I don’t have other ones in place.”

I sigh. “What are the other rules, besides denying me the pleasure of exploring your mouth with my tongue.”

His nostrils flare slightly as his chest expands with a deep breath. “This is short-term. No kissing, no intimacy, no romance. Sex is sex.”

“I don’t need rose petals or candles,” I say. “And I agree, sex doesn’t have to come with emotions, but I’d like to discuss something.”

“What’s that?”

“You sucking my dick. Why won’t you do it? It’s not kissing.”

“It’s a form of intimacy.”

“You let me suck your dick.”

“You don’t have my rules.”

I huff. “Sex is a form of intimacy.”

“Not the way I do it.”

“You’re a pain in my ass.” His smile makes me smile in return. “In more ways than one. I’m guessing another rule is I can’t ever fuck you.”

He watches me but doesn’t respond.

“Have you ever bottomed?”

“Why does it matter?”

“Why do you seem afraid to talk about the sexual acts men do together if you’re gay?”

“Jayden,” he growls. A warning.

“Fine. You say short-term. How short? You already have an end date in mind?”

“When I go back to Chicago.”

I sit up straight, my back coming off the couch cushions. “You’re going back to Chicago? When?”

“The beginning of July.”

For some reason, my body reacts to the news as if I’m unhappy about this. Disappointment swirling in my stomach. But I shouldn’t care. That’s still a good amount of time, and since when do I go past that time frame with anyone?

“Okay.”

“Now come here.” He reaches into his pants, stroking his dick, and my feet take me to him before I drop to my knees.
