Sleet Banshee by S.J. Tilly

CHAPTER SIXTY

SEBASTIAN

I look away for one moment, to tell Zach to shut the fuck up, and she’s disappeared.

How does a goddess vanish into such a small crowd?

Ignoring Zach, I take a step toward the stairs. She’s gotta be hidden behind someone. Most of the team is here, so there’s a lot of large bodies. My Banshee might have a big presence, but she’s tiny in comparison to me and the rest of the guys.

“Mr. LeBlanc. Mr. Hunt.” A hand clamps down on my shoulder.

“Hey, Coach.” I'm tempted to brush him off, but Zach and I turn to face him.

“Coach,” Zach greets.

“My, my. Don’t you boys clean up nice.”

“Ash here says I look like a waiter,” Zach pouts.

Coach lets out a bark of laughter. “He’s not entirely wrong, son.”

Zach scoffs. “Izzy picked this out. You better not let her hear you say that.”

Sometimes I forget that his girlfriend is the coach’s daughter.

Coach nods. “Copy that. How about you, Ash? You bring a date with you tonight?”

I sigh. “I think you two have been spending too much time together. Zach’s gonna turn you into a meddling old biddy if you’re not careful.”

Zach chuckles, then answers Coach’s question for me. “He’s here with Meghan. Or at least, he’s hoping to be.”

“Our Meghan?” Coach asks. “How interesting.”

Now they’re both looking at me. Of course Coach knows Meghan, she’s good friends with Izzy. Not sure how I could’ve overlooked that bit of information.

Coach gives me a slow once-over, and I can tell he’s looking at me from a father’s perspective. “I can see it. You two could actually be a good match. She’s a bit of a firecracker.” I smirk, having just thought the same thing. “But you’re a bit of an ass, so you need someone like that to keep you in line.”

“Hey!” I say, indignant.

“Dude.” Zach laughs at me. “Coach has you fucking nailed.”

I roll my eyes. “Alright, you two can stay over here gossiping. I’m going to go find… someone.”

Zach throws up air quotes as he repeats, “Someone.

I flip him the bird, and go on a Banshee hunt.
