I Dated a Mob Wolf by Viola Grace

Chapter Two

Lady Daycross was unusually quiet, flicking through her tablet and smiling occasionally.

Etgar was showered, changed, and looking outside when she came in. His smile was bright, and she grabbed him by the hand and hauled him outside.

“You look lovely, Five.”

She wrinkled her nose. “Thank you. I just thought you had the right to know that the child is yours.”

He narrowed his gaze, and she could tell he was trying not to laugh. “I know.”

Her mouth opened and then closed with a snap. “How?”

“Your scent and mine, baby girl. It radiates out of you. Wildflowers and honey on a moonlit night. That is you right now.” He grinned. “I am still coming to grips with the idea, but my mom is already buying nursery stuff and a maternity wardrobe for you.”

She exhaled and swayed. He caught her and pulled her against him. “I’ve got you.”

“That is a load off. I was worried.”

“And you didn’t lie. I found that the funniest. When you were asked, you just said it was unlikely given my temporary sterility. You never actually said it wasn’t mine.”

She blushed. “I can’t lie.”

“I know. I find that very endearing. You were very sneaky about it as well. Bravo.”

“No guy will turn down having his balls fondled, so I reversed your disconnection and then disconnected you again.”

“And you did it with blowjobs both times. Nicely done.”

She was glad she didn’t have to look at more than his nice shirt. “So, how old are you anyway?”

He chuckled. “I got you for my twenty-first birthday. I am twenty-seven now.”

She covered her mouth. “Oh no. I robbed the cradle.”

“How old are you?”

She was mortified. “Thirty-three.”

“Which explains your plan.”

Vallu was still grappling with the fact that when she was eighteen, he was twelve.

He whispered in her ear. “Don’t overthink it. Your confidence in bed was one of the main attractions. I didn’t have to put up with any crying or protests of innocence. You got on with it, over it, under it, and I was able to knot inside you, which just about exploded my brain. You tried over and over until you could. I loved your persistence.” He licked the curve of her ear. “I loved your scent.” He nuzzled her neck. “I loved the feel of you around me, squeezing and just short of hurting. God, you are tight.”

She blushed. “So you have said. A few times. Usually with the word fuck in there for emphasis.”

“Yeah. When I think about you, fuck comes up a lot. So, does mine.

She had a thought. “So, how many whores have you brought here?”

He blinked. “Just you. Wait, that came out wrong.”

She snickered. “It was just when we arrived that your mother mentioned you bringing whores over, but then, she was excited to see me.”

“The guys have been trying to cheer me up since that last date. It hasn’t been successful. The ladies they bring in balk, and I smell the fear, and that kills it for me.”

She cupped his jaw. “Aw, who’s a sad fuzzy buddy?”

He grinned and put his hand over her backside. “I will spank you for taunting me.”

“Me? The mother of your child? You would lay hands on me?” She gasped in fake alarm.

He lifted her, and she bent her knees to rest on his hips while he brought her in for a kiss that shook her soul and rattled it hard. There was nothing like the taste of him, nothing like the feel of him, and she wanted to rub herself against him so much that it wasn’t even funny. She wanted his scent in her skin, on her skin, and inside her again so that she was wrapped in him when she moved.

He shuddered, and the kiss went wild. He pulled his lips from hers and trailed kisses down her throat into the polite cleavage of her dress. He ran his tongue over the upper curves of her breasts, and she whimpered. It had been too long; she wanted him now.

Lady Daycross’s voice hit Vallu’s lust and cooled it. “Dear, we can’t call you Five. What is your actual name?”

Vallu turned her dazed gaze to the lady. “Vallu.”

Etgar murmured, “Vallu. I like it.”

She turned and kissed him again, running her fingers through the fur surrounding his face, stroking his soft cheeks, and caressing his ears. No part of him was off-limits, and she wanted it all.

Lady Daycross called cheerfully, “Before you two tear each other’s clothes off, let’s have some tea. I have a Darjeeling for us and a nice herbal for Vallu.”

Vallu sighed. “Six months to coffee.” She looked to the side. “I suppose I have to get down now.”

Etgar chuckled. “Nope.” He simply walked in wearing her, and then, he had a seat, arranging her across his lap with his tail wagging behind him. At home, the tail was out all the time.

When the tea was served, Vallu waited, and the awkward questions started right away.

“So, Vallu, how is it that you and my son are so compatible? You don’t have a similar activation.”

“Well, Ma’am, aside from my brother and co-workers occasionally calling me a bitch, you are correct.”

Etgar sprayed tea on the pristine tablecloth.

She smiled. “However, I have been running a regular heat since I activated; I have worn out a lot of batteries and developed an RSI in my right wrist. So, when I was approached by the Blind Date Corporation, I agreed to give it a try. Your son was my first client, agreed to the temporary sterilization, and we had our first date during one of my heats.”

Etgar finished blotting at his tea and said, “She nearly burned my balls off.”

Vallu blushed. “Right, so that was our first date, and after I warned him that a repeat of my response was a few months away, we started to meet monthly.”

“And twice a year, she goes up in flames, and I had a standing order to be notified.”

Lady Daycross blushed. “Ah. And having seen you two in action, it was a very niche connection.”

Vallu looked at Etgar, and he was about to say something about her niche. She could tell. When his mouth opened, she clamped two hands against his lips to keep the wry filth inside. He looked down at her with surprise and then amusement. She looked around, and the staff and Lady Daycross looked at her in astonishment. “Oops. Apologies.”

She uncovered his mouth and folded her hands in her lap.

Etgar grinned. “You dare to keep me from making a crude joke at my mother’s expense?”

“I did, but I am just visiting, so... Not going to rock the boat.” She smiled. “With that noted, I should have my own chair.” She put her hand on the table and went to lever herself off him.

He wrapped his arms around her. “Where do you think you are going?”

She pointed. “Over there, Mr. Etgar, Sir.”

“But, Vallu, that isn’t where I put you.”

She looked at him and stroked his face. “I don’t give a fuck. I am not insulting your mother by playing the trollop at her table.”

He relaxed his grip, and she sat in the chair next to him, picking up her herbal tea.

She looked at Lady Daycross. “Apologies. I was overwrought. I am not good at keeping secrets and got a little giddy when it was over and done with. I am back under control now.”

Lady Daycross smiled. “Thank you, but I don’t mind. It is amusing to see someone defying my son. It does not happen often. Even I rarely do it.”

That is because he isn’t trying to get into your pants.Vallu sipped at her tea. He will put up with a lot to get inside me.

“What are you thinking, Vallu?” Etgar’s voice was next to her ear, and she jumped, her teacup clattering.

“Um. Lovely china.” She smiled brightly.

His whisper was just for her. “That is the expression you have when you are thinking about sex. Specifically, sex with me.”

She nodded slightly. “Uh-huh. That is likely correct.”

He leaned in and nipped her neck, laving his tongue across her skin. She shivered and looked down at the hand that he had in her lap, stroking her thigh.

Lady Daycross chuckled. “If you two need to blow off some steam, I can continue my planning the nursery in peace. Do you think it’s a boy or a girl?”

“At this point, I think it looks like a shrimp. Like a cocktail shrimp.” She measured about an inch with her fingers. “Aside from that, I don’t really care.”

Etgar’s mother said, “Ah. Well, what colours would you prefer?”

“Well, the nursery I did at home has purple, yellow, and green and a mural painted by a friend of mine.”

“Oh, what kind of mural?”

She brought up the images on her com and projected them over the table.

“Oh, my. That’s lovely. A forest of books against a sunrise in neutral colours.”

Etgar nodded. “Who did it?”

“Uhhh... Three.”

“Ah. One of the BDC escorts.”

“Yeah. He’s really good in the art field. He’s won awards.”

“He was in your home?”

“That is where the nursery is located. Yes.”

She looked at him, and his jaw was tense. “Geez. I have male friends, female friends, friends in between. I have known One through Ten for years. We have gone to hearings in other countries to explain what we do and how we do it.”

Etgar blinked. “Really?”

“Sure. As you know, with things like the capitol’s block on marriage and reproduction between actives, it still happens, but it means that the average law-abiding citizen is put at risk when they are looking for romance with an active with a physical manifestation. Not all tab A’s fit into slot B.” She smiled. “Some require a J, K, or a Q.”

“So, you and Three haven’t been intimate?”

“Oh, sure we have. Four years ago, his patron wanted to try adding a female to the mix. So, we all played together, I was invited back twice, and that was it.”

He growled. “Was the patron male or female?”

“I was wearing a mask. Couldn’t tell.” She sipped at her tea.

He opened and closed his mouth in surprise.

Lady Daycross refilled her cup. “So, Vallu, how many partners have you had.”

She blinked. “A fairly accurate twenty-five.”

“Oh. That isn’t as much as I had guessed.”

Vallu smiled. “I had a day job.”

She looked at Etgar. “So, did that manage to freeze your intent?”

He shook his head. “No, I know what you did for a living.”

“What was your day job?”

Vallu wrinkled her nose. “I worked in a mortuary.”

Etgar frowned. “But, you are a healer.”

“I can only work on one person at a time. I am not good in a triage situation.” She showed him her arm. “I can’t even heal myself.”

He looked and frowned. “You got shot?”

“I got shot. Two grazes. They will heal. At least I don’t scar up, normally.” She flicked her gaze at him, and the breath left his lungs in a rush. He had tried to mark her a few times during her heat, but the marks never stayed.

“What would make you scar up?” His voice was a low growl.

“I would have to create a wound treatment that kept it open.”

“Etgar, what are you talking about?”

Vallu looked at her apologetically. “Do you really want to know?”

Etgar explained to his mother and muttered, “Mating scars, so any male looking at her will know she is taken.”

“Well, the biters will know. The others will just be afraid of you.” She chuckled. “And pity me. And the humans will be freaked all the way out.”

He snorted. “I do not deal with many humans.”

Lady Daycross winced. “Does it hurt?”

While she thought about how to answer that, her cheeks became redder and redder. “If his timing is right, only a bit. If not, hell yes. Either way, it is a cross between frightening and intoxicating.”

Etgar took her hand and kissed her palm.

The lady looked at her son and said, “How... what do you get out of it?”

They both answer. “Power.”

“I don’t understand.”

He explained to his mother. “The bite conveys a link between the two parties. I can draw on her energy until the wound heals and the scar disappears. If she bites me, she can do the same. The blood creates a tie.”

“So, did they explain that in school?” The lady was all kinds of sarcastic.

Etgar chuckled. “No, biters talk. I learned all this stuff after school. When I was fifteen.”

He looked over at Vallu. “I thought that women like Vallu were a myth designed to keep us trying to find a companion. Imagine my delight when the myth was a reality.”

Her face had begun to normalize, but she got red again. “Uh, there are a few women who wouldn’t mind trying, I am sure.”

“The moment they start crying, I am done. It makes me angry.” He grumbled.

Lady Daycross smiled. “I am beginning to see that, in this case, the experience is the only thing that let you deal with him.”

“Uh, in the spirit of full disclosure, Etgar was my first patron. It is one reason that I also made him the last.” She smiled. “Well, one of the reasons. I knew his body pretty well by then, so I knew what had to be done to get what I wanted.” She ran her hand over her belly.

“So, you baby trapped him.”

“No, I just hijacked some sperm.” She smiled brightly. “He just would have jerked off and wasted them anyway. I just helped them get from the vestibule to the freeway. As I had no intention of making contact again and have more than enough money to take care of me and the baby, there was no trap. More like a giant neon sign that was pointing to my thighs.”

There was a beat of silence, and then, the lady burst out laughing.

Etgar reached out and pulled her into his lap again. Vallu looked up at him. There was a lot of amusement in his gaze. She shrugged. “It’s true.”

“I know. You suck at lying. Mother, when is dinner?”

“Seven.”

He looked down at Vallu. “When do you start getting hungry?”

“Five.”

“Can you have Jemal bring up a light tray at five? I don’t want her getting peckish. She gets bitey.”

That left two hours before a snack and four before she had to be seen in public. She looked at Etgar, and he smiled slowly.

His mother said, “Yes, but I had more questions for her.”

“She will answer them later. For now, it has been four months since we have been together, and I want to reacquaint myself with her.” He got to his feet. “There are changes that I want to take in.”

Vallu had a thing she wanted to take in as well, but she wasn’t going to say that in front of his mother.
