The Dom’s Submission: Complete Series by Ellis O. Day
CHAPTER 17: Terry
Terry had to be dreaming. No, he was having a nightmare because through his door came Maggie and her kids. Everything he feared was walking straight toward him.
Beast, the traitor, trotted over to them, tail wagging.
Peter ran to the couch. “Mister Terry, are you sick? Mommy says you’re sick.”
“I am and I want to sleep. Tell your mommy to take you home.”
The little boy dropped down on the couch by him. “You never took us for pizza. You promised.”
His stomach twisted at the thought of that greasy, cheesy dish and he clenched his jaw. He hadn’t thrown up yet and he had no intention of changing that.
“Peter, don’t talk about food. Mister Terry’s belly hurts.” Maggie took his hand. “Come on, Mister Terry.” She grinned at his glare. “Let’s get you to bed.”
“Go away,” he said under his breath.
“As soon as you’re well, I’ll leave and never see you again.”
He stood. That was the last thing he wanted but it was what had to be. “Promise?” He was being an ass but he had to chase her away now. If he didn’t, it’d destroyed him when she left and she would leave. No woman like her, kind and caring, would put up with his shit for long.
She straightened her shoulders. “I promise.”
He let her lead him into his bedroom and he dropped onto his bed. “I feel better already. You can go now.”
“Take a shower and change your clothes. I’ll be back to check on you after I make some soup.” She hurried out of the room.
He buried his face in his pillow. He was a dick. There were tears in her voice and he’d put them there.
