Marked By Rejection by Avery Stone
Entry 1002: Facing Death
Dear Kyle,
I saw a girl who looked just like me. She was a child, but she thrummed with a power I can't describe. She was chained, and yet I feel as if it were for her own protection.
If freed, would she make sure all those who wished to keep her captive would perish by her very little hands?
I'm unsure.
Is that how you felt at the last moments? Did you even get the satisfaction of knowing the one who stole you from us dealt with a burning fate before being confronted by death?
You got revenge on the one who took you away...but I wish there were more I could do.
It was always one of my regrets.
That I couldn't save you.
Protect you.
Complete the vow I've seemed to have forgotten.
What did I promise you?
There was something.
I can't remember anymore.
I think I'm going to die, Kyle.
The light is so bright and my body is so warm.
But...I'm not afraid, especially if it means I return to your side.
I hope you forgive me before I get there.
Then I'll never leave your side again.
Alright...I think I'm ready.
See you soon, Kyle.
I love you...
