Yours to Keep by Claudia Burgoa

Mills

Dear Mills,

I admire you. You’re a great father. It took courage to take charge of a baby while having a demanding career, but I guess that’s what makes you better than me. Everything you do, you do it with all your heart and without hesitation. If there’s anything I wish I had learned from you is to confront my fears and be my own person. I hope you teach that to Arden and to your other children.

By the way, you’re a great hockey player. I always watched you when you were in New York, and sometimes I traveled to other places. It drove me crazy to watch you and Pierce fight every time you went to the penalty box. And I know you did it on purpose so you could at least interact with him. I hope you two learned to get along.

I hope you found someone to share your life with.

Love,

W.
