Rejected Wolf by Rae Foxx

Finally, after Titus decided to take his sweet time in the shower, he came out and ticked his head. Assuming it meant it was my turn, I went in and shut the door behind me. His pine tree and apple cider scent washed over me, enhanced by the steam and heat. I stripped down, heaping my filthy clothes into a pile in the corner, and considered burning them later if I could get my hands on a pack of matches. Well, that and new clothes. There was no way in hell I was walking around naked in front of those three.

It took me nearly an hour to get all the grime from my skin along with the crusted-on blood along with Gods knew what else. The tiny sliver of soap was gone by the time I was done, and I longed for a bottle of anything to rid myself of the stench of death that somehow still clung to my pores and filled my nose.

“Need a hand or two?” The thin shower curtain was yanked open revealing Titus in only a towel. He flicked his fingers toward the corner of it and let it fall to the ground with a grin on his face like he’d won something, or he had gifted me something.

Gods, he had. He was gorgeous--chiseled from the hardest stone and rock solid. I suspected he could stand there while a wild tornado rushed around him never to be moved.

Don’t look down. Don’t look down. Don’t look. Shit. I looked down. Yep. All of him rock hard.

“I think I’ve got it, but thanks.” I tried to step out, but his refrigerator stature stopped me, blocking the way out of the tiny tub.

“I thought we had a deal, Liz. We helped you survive death…” His eyes ticked down to my throat. “I thought maybe you could return the favor. Trust me, you’d enjoy it.”

Rolling my eyes, I cocked out my hip. His hungry eyes darted to watch the movement as he licked his lips. “I’m probably bone-dry right now, but thanks for the offer. Can I get out now?”

A growl resonated from Titus’ chest, but I didn’t feel frightened. The sound woke something deep inside me, something feral and yet unusually familiar like a part of me had been lying in wake for him to make that sound. “Can I get in now? I know you would taste like heaven. Haven’t you heard that vampires are some of the best lovers? Let’s test it out, shall we?”

He stepped closer, his hand sliding down his chest to grab himself. He didn’t get more than a step closer before he was interrupted.

“Titus, stand down. Let her out.”

A grin lifted one side of Titus’ face, he didn’t even flinch. “I was just testing the waters, so to speak. I’ve got better things to do anyway.”

Reginald stepped in and handed me a towel. “Here you go. I went to the souvenir store and bought you some clean clothes. No panties or a bra to be found so you’ll have to do with this until we can get you some more. At least it’s clean.”

He handed me a bag and I’d never been so grateful. “Oh, and there’s a toothbrush and toothpaste in there too. I also bought you food. Come on out when you’re ready. Is there anything else I can get for you?”

“No…” I sputtered out. Seeing Titus… wanting him that badly was scary. I’d never even wanted another shifter that way. Even my wolf was panting inside me. This was dangerous-- too dangerous for my good. I should’ve just let them drain me or leave me to die under the pounding sun. “I’m fine.”

Reginald wiped the mirror clean of steam. “I’m sorry for my brother. He is a bit of a brute but you already know that. Please finish up and come out. He’ll leave you alone. Hopefully.”

He gave me a wink at that last word and was gone. I, however, could have sworn my heart rate sped up.
