I got to the park right at 9:30 the next morning.

I had never been this early to a meeting. In fact, I always loved to arrive late so I could make an entrance. Punctuality was never part of me, and it was rather surprising that I was at the park at the exact time I asked Jennifer to meet me.

Maybe it was because I was nervous. I had never felt this way about any girl. When I woke up this morning and stared into the mirror, a different man stared back at me. Another Holland Kennedy who was going to see a lady who made his heart flutter.

I had decided to listen to Ethan. He seemed to be right after all. My delight would never come from sleeping with different women. I needed to stay focused, to find a woman I would love.

So, a day after I met Ethan, I started going to the Mount Arena to buy coffee and read the newspaper at the park. I wasn’t out to find out who had died in Leevens or had been pulled into a scandal or gotten richer in the news. I was out to look for the right woman.

By the time I did that for five days, it got tiring. Maybe I was unlucky. Maybe I would never get to meet my special woman.

Yesterday was going to be my last day at the park. I had gone into the Mount to get coffee and was about to leave when I bumped into Jennifer. It was impossible not to recognize her.

In fact, since the day we met at the pub, I couldn’t stop thinking about her.

Jennifer Cole was beautiful. Right from the very moment I saw her at the pub, I knew there was something interesting about her. She had red hair that reached her waist, feminine curves, and a single dimple that appeared even when she wasn’t smiling.

As much as I tried not to have lewd thoughts about her, it was impossible to get my mind off her voluptuous breasts and butt that never failed to jiggle when she walked. I could almost picture my hands on her soft butt cheeks, squeezing them gently as I suckled on her nipples.

However, for the first time in my life, I wasn’t interested in just sleeping with her. Jennifer was the type of woman I wanted to sit with and get to know. She was the kind of lady I would love to wake up beside every morning, smiling as the morning sun settled on her beautiful face.

It was very unlike me, and I loved the way I was feeling. There were a lot of things I wanted to learn about Jennifer and today, I was here to do that.

“Aww, you’re an early bird,” I heard someone say behind me.

When I turned around, it was Jennifer, trudging toward me in the snow in her brown boots and fur coat. I thought about getting her an expensive coat for Christmas, but I didn’t know if it was too soon to be buying her gifts.

“I think I am,” I answered and handed her a cup of coffee.

She took it from me and said thanks. I patted the bench I was sitting on. Jennifer sat and together we stared at the other people in the park while we sipped our drinks in silence.

“So, you work at that pub?” I started the conversation.

“Actually, my father owns that pub,” she answered.

“Really? I have never met a pub owner.”

“Well, now you have.”

“I’m sorry for scaring you that night.”

Jennifer chuckled. “It’s nothing. You were running from a murderer.”

“You know, I’ve only been in Leevens for a few months and I’m starting to not like it.”

Jennifer glanced at me. “Don’t let some psychotic man ruin the town for you. There are many good things about Leevens.”

“I have heard a lot of bad things about it, too.”

“If you’re talking about the serial killer who once troubled this town, Ethan Coast solved that, he and his Mafia.”

“I belong to a Mafia.”

“You do?” Her tone was coated with surprise. “The Ross Mafia?”

I shook my head. “It’s a different group called the Peak Mafia. My uncle created it.”

Jennifer laughed. “The Peak?”

I laughed too. “Don’t tell me, the name sucks?”

“Kinda. But it’s cool that you’re in an elite group. It’s no place for people like me.”

I didn’t know what she meant by that. Thinking about it, Jennifer was insinuating that she wasn’t rich. I had’t even thought about it. I was more interested in who she was than if she had a million dollars in her bank account.

“So, what are you doing this weekend?” I asked, changing the subject.

“Nothing. Just helping my father in the pub.”

“Oh, does he mind that I am with you right now when you should be helping him?”

Jennifer dismissed that with a wave of her hand. “He doesn’t care.”

“Does that means he isn’t going to care if I take you out this weekend?”

Her look of surprise was back. It had been fascinating to see the look back at the Mount.

“This weekend?”

“Yes,” I said. “We could go to the Leevens Waterfall or go snowboarding.”

“I have never been snowboarding,” Jennifer said.

“Oh, then you've met the right man to teach you."

I wanted to tell Jennifer she had found the right man to spend the rest of her live with, but, that would be too soon.

There would be time for that. For now, I had to show her how much I was starting to like her.
