My cousin and his wife arrived back in Leevens a few hours after I fucked Jennifer. because Raymond wanted to celebrate Maddy’s upcoming birthday in Leevens.

As always, Maddy was delighted to see me. She was even more delighted when she heard the news about Jennifer Cole. I had found the woman of my dreams.

“I knew you had it in you,” Ethan said as soon as Maddy stopped congratulating me.

“I have to admit,” I said. “She is very special.”

“I am happy for you too,” Ethan’s wife, Lisa, said and embraced me.

“Are we going to see her one day?” Raymond asked.

“I invited her to Maddy’s birthday party tomorrow.”

“That’s amazing,” Maddy exclaimed.

The next day, Jennifer looked extremely beautiful when she strolled into the party in the shimmering black gown I bought for her, the fabric clinging to her body and revealing her insane curves. Her red hair was packed in a ponytail while lip gloss glimmered on her sexy lips. I enjoyed watching her walk in those black heels, searching the room for me.

“Holland,” Jennifer said when she saw me.

I went to meet her and pulled her into a hug, planting a kiss on her cheek. We had talked about not displaying our affection in public. Jennifer didn’t want people to know she was seeing a celebrity.

“I want you to meet my cousin and his wife,” I said, leading her to where Raymond and Maddy were chatting to some of the guests.

When Maddy saw Jennifer, her face brightened, “Jennifer! You’re really beautiful.”

“Thank you, Mrs. Baxter,” Jennifer said politely.

“Oh, please, call me Maddy.”

“Nice meeting you, Jennifer,” Raymond said, taking my girl’s hand and kissing the back it. “You have to be very special for Holland not to have stopped talking about you.”

“I know right?” said Maddy. “He doesn’t do that with a lot of girls.”

“Okay, Jennifer,” I quickly said before they would start talking about my promiscuous past. “It’s time for you to meet Ethan and Lisa. They are over there.”

Ethan and Lisa were equally happy to meet Jennifer. Lisa told her that she had once gone to the pub to order a bottle of whiskey for her father, the sheriff.

“I think I had a conversation with your father,” she said. “He was a cool guy.”

“Not on days when people don’t come to the pub,” Jennifer said.

“Oh, is it that bad?” I asked her because she had never told me that her father was having trouble with the pub.

Jennifer laughed. “He’s going to be fine.”

“I see that you haven’t changed, Jennifer Cole,” came a voice behind us.

Someone had come to join us and before I even turned around, I knew who it was. This was a new friend I had just met, and it seemed that he knew Jennifer as well.

“Williams!” I greeted. “You two have met?”

Williams Sutherland was roughly my height with a lean body. Today, he had worn a designer suit and sleek shoes.

“I’m surprised that you have,” Williams answered. “Because Jennifer is the type of woman you stay away from.”

I stopped smiling. What was he talking about? When I glanced at Jennifer, she looked like a deer caught in the headlights.

“Hey, Williams,” Ethan jumped into the discussion. “What’s all this?”

“Jennifer Cole, or should I say, Mariah Oliver, only talks about how pathetic her life is so she can rob you of your money,” Williams said.

I turned to Jennifer. From her reaction, I could tell Williams was telling the truth.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Jennifer replied but her eyes told a different story.

“I have evidence, con woman,” Williams said, fishing out his phone. “I have the details of the cash transactions I did to Mariah Oliver only to find out she is really you. Look, Holland, I don’t know how you met this woman, but you should stay the hell away from her. She is probably hanging out with you because you’re rich.. I thought she loved me, but Jennifer was only after my money. She stole hundreds of dollars from me!”

I was speechless. I wanted to believe that this was a misunderstanding, that the woman I was in love with didn’t intend to scam me.

“Is this true?” That was Lisa.

Jennifer stuttered. “I can explain.”

Then she tried to touch me. I pulled away, shaking my head as it hit me that Williams was telling the truth.

“I’m not the only man she has done this to,” Williams continued. “There are five of us. I found out her true identity through one of them.”

Jennifer was crying now. She moved closer to me, but I backed away. Suddenly, she disgusted me.

“Holland, please,” she pleaded. “I love you. I wouldn’t do that to you.”

“So, you were trying to scam me? When did you plan to do it? After two months? A year?”

“No, no, never. Listen to me, Holland, whatever happened in the past, it wasn’t going to be the same with you. You’re different. You’re…”

“Don’t,” I interrupted her and rushed out of the party.

I felt everyone’s eyes on me as I walked away but I didn’t care. Jennifer Cole had broken me. She had taken my heart and shattered it into bits.
