Alicia’s Vengeance by Lila Fox

Chapter Five

Alicia looked around the kitchen. It wasn’t what she expected for an MC kitchen, and she guessed Kristina had something to do with it.

Kristina smiled at her. “This is Sally.” She pointed at a woman. “Sally, this is someone I knew from school. Her name is Alicia.”

“It’s nice to meet you,” Alicia said and turned back to Kristina when she started talking again.

“The two of us take care of the kitchen. It would be nice to have more help.”

Alicia glanced at Stone and then back at her. “But I won’t be staying.”

“Yes, she is,” Stone said.

She caught the smile on Kristina’s face and turned to scowl at Stone.

Stone ignored her. “I want to get some food in her before we talk.”

Sally loaded two plates with scrambled eggs and toast. “The pancakes will be done soon.”

Stone handed Alicia a plate.

“This is plenty. Thank you.” This was actually more food than she’d had in weeks.

Stone took her into the main room and sat her at one of the tables before handing her a fork.

She looked around the room, shocked to see some men and women naked or partially naked, passed out on the sofas. There was even one couple who was still fucking.

“Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.”

Her gaze darted to him. When was he going to realize he probably wouldn’t see her again after today?

She was about ready to remind him but shut her mouth when he narrowed his eyes on her.

A shiver chased down her spine. She would have loved to say it was fear, but she could also feel her nipples tighten and her panties grow damp. She’d had boyfriends in the past, but never anything serious because she always planned on leaving. But she’d never felt this level of desire before in her life, and it startled her.

She was getting used to the hollow, desolate feeling she’d had since Kelly was murdered, so it shocked and scared her that any positive emotion would make her change her mind about killing the Demons.

Stone pointed at her plate. “Eat, Alicia.”

Without another word, she bent and started eating. She was dumbfounded when she realized she’d eaten everything on the plate and had actually tasted it.

It was like she was coming back to life, and it not only was it extremely agonizing, but it infuriated her.

“You son of a bitch,” she yelled at Stone and tried to throw her plate at him. She got even madder when he just smirked at her. It was his fault she was starting to feel, and she hated him for it.

“I want to leave now,” she bellowed and stood to dart out of the club. She hadn’t made it two steps before Stone’s arms came around her and lifted her into his arms.

She went wild, hitting, kicking, and trying to bite him. When he tossed her over his shoulder and started for the stairs, she screamed in fury.

“Tell Striker we’ll be down in a while.”

“You got it, Stone.”

She heard the conversation but concentrated on making him feel the pain she was in at that moment.

She screamed again when he dropped her onto his mattress. Ready to fight, she came up on her knees and faced him. “You motherfucker. Get the fuck away from me.”

He locked the door and then leaned against it before he crossed his arms over his chest. “No.”

“You can’t do this,” she yelled. “You’re no better than those animals.”

“What were you going to college for?” he asked.

The change in topics threw her, and she was stunned, speechless at his question. “Why are you asking me that?”

“Just tell me,” he said.

“A … a nurse.”

He nodded. “That makes sense.”

She growled. “What does?”

“The fact that you’re hurting and killing people, but it’s not in your nature.”

“That was before. I’m different now.”

“That’s bullshit. You can’t change a person’s heart and soul. You’re damaged right now, but it can be fixed.”

She was beyond frustrated, but she could feel the fight drain from her. Tears stung her eyelids. “Why does this matter to you so much?”

“Because I think you’re worth saving, baby.”

She swiped the tears that slid down her face. “But why?”

He walked to her and cupped her face. She stayed still, waiting for his next move.

“Because there are so few good caring people in the world right now. We can’t afford to lose you.”

She shook her head. “But I’m not—”

“That’s bullshit.”

It would have pissed her off if he hadn’t said it so gently.

She felt a spear of such excruciating pain rip through her that she cried out. She tried pushing him away because she needed to run and hide, unable to hold back the tidal wave of pure desperate emotion she’d held bottled up inside of her since her sister’s murder. She didn’t want him to see it.

He gathered her in his arms, sat on the mattress, and held her tightly against his chest. “Cry, Alicia. Get rid of some of the poison that’s built up in you.”

She shook her head at the same time a low, wounded cry slipped from her, becoming stronger and louder. The tears ripped through her. She clung to him as she wept, sometimes gasping for breath or gagging, but it wouldn’t stop.

He talked to her, but she had no idea what he was saying. She knew he was trying to soothe her, but the gates to her emotions had been flung open, and there was no way to stop the flood of grief, anger, devastation, and despair.
