Alicia’s Vengeance by Lila Fox
Chapter Seven
Stone pulled her into the office and sat next to her on the sofa. He took her hand when his prez and vice prez walked into the room.
He squeezed it when he felt her tense, but a moment later, Kristina came through the door and went to stand behind Striker, who sat at his desk. Stone loved how she put her hand on his shoulder to show her support but otherwise kept quiet.
He watched when Striker smiled up at her and patted her hand, and at that moment, he wanted that with Alicia so bad he could taste it.
He felt Alicia relax even more when Kristina smiled gently at her.
“Tell me what happened,” Striker said.
She talked about what the police told her, about how her sister was kidnapped in the mall parking lot. Several hours later, they dumped her body in front of the house she shared with her sister.
“How’d you know it was the Demons?” Feral asked.
“I described the emblem I saw on their vests. I was looking out my front window when they did it, and I’d seen them around town a few times. I hadn’t realized what they’d dropped on my lawn until they left, and I ran out to see.”
Stone put an arm around her when she started to shake.
“God, if it hadn’t been for her clothes, I never would have recognized her.”
He pressed his lips against the top of her head when she hid her face into his shoulder.
“We’ll get them, baby,” he whispered. “I swear it.”
She looked up at him, nodded, took a breath, and turned back to Striker.
She named several of the injuries they’d inflicted on her sister, which made his gut twist into a knot. Stone was a mean son of a bitch and had killed several times in his life, but never an innocent, and he’d never tortured a woman.
“How in the fuck did you get all the information?” Striker asked.
Alicia looked down at her hands in her lap. “I volunteered at the hospital, and one of my friends got me a copy of the report.”
“That’s fucked up,” Feral said. “You didn’t need to know all that shit.”
“I agree,” Stone said. Fuck, how was she going to live with those pictures in her head the rest of her life?
“I had to,” she said.
“I would like to know if you’ve gotten that idiotic idea of taking out the whole club by yourself out of your mind,” Striker said.
Stone felt her flinch and waited to hear her answer.
“I … I don’t know.”
The muscle on the side of his jaw started to throb as he tried to keep his temper in check.
“May I ask a question?” Kristina said.
Striker smiled at her and squeezed her hand. “Yes, baby.”
Kristina looked at Alicia. “I know both, you and your sister, and I want those monsters dead, too, but you have to think about what Kelly would want for you. The Kelly I knew would be horrified at what you’re doing. She wouldn’t want you to waste your life on a vendetta and get killed.”
Alicia wiped the tears that started to fall.
Stone just prayed K was getting through to her.
“Let me ask you this,” K asked her. “If the roles were reversed, what would you like your sister to do? Would you want her to die, too?”
Alicia shook her head and burst out. “No. God, no.”
“Then give her the peace of knowing you’ll carry on the family and maybe find a man and have children. You could tell them all about her so she can live in their memories, too.”
Stone was so fucking proud of K at that moment. He could tell she was getting through to Alicia as no one else could have.
“I’m going to send some guys to your house to get some things for you. Make a list of what you want.”
“But I can do that.”
Stone and Striker shook their heads.
Stone tilted her face up with a finger under her chin. “No, babe, I’m betting they already know about you and what you’ve been up to.”
“But if they’re watching the house, they’ll follow your men back here, and I won’t have anyone hurt because of me,” Alicia said.
Striker nodded. “I’ve already thought about that. I want them to concentrate on us. Deep down, they’re all fucking pussies, and we’ve wanted to take the whole club out for a while. This will give us an excuse to.”
“But your people will get hurt.”
“Not necessarily. My men are trained. They know how to handle themselves.”
“What about Kristina and the other women?”
“They’ll be in lockdown for the time being.”
“What does that mean?” Alicia asked.
Stone could see Striker starting to get pissed. He knew his prez didn’t like people questioning him.
Stone got her attention. “It means you women will stay in the compound and the club building, and we’ll have several guys here at all times to protect you. There are other locations we could place you all if things get dangerous. Striker will know if and when we should move you.”
“I want the women out right now, and the guys brought in. We have some planning to do,” Striker said.
“Wait, why can’t I be involved? This is my fight,” Alicia said.
Striker shook his head. “Wrong. This is our fight because you’re one of us now.”
Stone loved the sound of that but could tell it shocked Alicia.
“But—”
“Stone, shut your woman up.”
Stone had to bite back a smile when Alicia gasped. He didn’t know if it was because Striker called her his woman or the fact his prez told her to shut up.
“Why don’t you come with me?” Kristina asked. “Sally and I are planning on baking this afternoon, and you can help us.”
Alicia glanced at him, and he nodded. “Go. But stay in the building.”
“You’ll tell me what’s going on later?”
“Yes. As much as I can.”
Alicia stood and followed K out, and they closed the door. Within a minute, man after man filed in to fill the room.
“I want a man at every doorway to keep the women in and to watch for anything,” Striker said.
Feral yelled out the door, and a few of the prospects came running. They weren't allowed in church as they weren’t full members yet. Stone heard him give the order and then closed the door.
“This is the situation,” Striker said. They spent the next two hours building a plan to kill every Black Demon they could find.
Striker stopped him as the group started to leave. “Stone, keep your woman in check.”
“Does she know she’s his woman?” one of the guys asked and laughed.
Stone chuckled. “If she doesn’t, she’ll know shortly.”
“Hey, are you going to make her your old lady?” Taz asked.
Stone paused. He couldn’t see his life without her now. “Yeah. I think I am.” He knew it was kind of fucked up since they’d just met, but he knew a good thing when he saw it.
“Make sure you ask her instead of telling her like Striker did Kristina,” Feral said, laughing.
“Oh, I don’t know. It worked out well for him,” Stone said. “I think it might be best to keep them on their toes and confused. We get more done that way.”
Every man laughed as they filed out.
Stone followed closely behind, anxious to check on Alicia. He had a fear that if he didn’t have her by his side all the time, something would happen to her, and if he lost her already, that would destroy him.
