Chapter Nine

Roman

I push forward, sliding into her depths, but she’s too tight to thrust all the way in. I slowly kiss her lips, doing my best to ease the pain, but my sweet Amelia wraps her legs around the back of my thighs, sending me deep into her, tearing at her virginity. Fuck me. I’m one lucky bastard. “Breathe and relax, baby.” I drag my cock almost completely out before slamming back in.

“Roman,” she moans, licking my jaw.

“What do you need?”

“I don’t know.” New to all of this, I take my time and tease my woman. We rock together very gently as she gets used to my girth destroying her walls and my length banging on her womb. I delve deeper and then pull back just enough to leave the tip in, and then slide back in.

Damn it, I’m doing my best to hang on, but this is the best feeling in the fucking world. Being wrapped up by her sweet cunt is unbearably perfect. Her walls choke my length, and I want to pin her to the mattress and let go. “More,” Amelia begs, clinging tightly to me as I continue to pummel her pussy. Leaning down, I snag her nipple between my lips and suck hard. I love her tits. They’re plump, round, and so soft. Grasping one, I pluck and squeeze, watching Amelia moan from my caress, learning her body.

“You’re so beautiful, Amelia. I want to see you come for me. Are you gonna come on my cock, Princess?”

“Yes, yes. Holy shit. I’m coming, Roman. Don’t stop.” I couldn’t even if I wanted to, which I sure as fuck don’t. She clenches hard with a death grip around my length and I let go, driving into her pussy and flooding it with every ounce of cum I have, filling her sweet womb with my load. Damn—the thought of knocking her up plays in my head and I dig my feet into the mattress for leverage as I violently pump out the last bit. The feral need to plant my seed rushes through my soul and I growl, snatching her mouth in a brutal kiss.

“You’re mine, Amelia.” I kiss her softly, slowly pull out of her painfully tight warmth, and plop onto my back.

“Does that mean you’re mine?” she asks, turning her upper body to me. There’s a vulnerable look in her eyes that tears a little more at that foundation Anna built for me.

God, she’s so beautiful and sweet. I slide my arm around her and place her head on my chest, needing to hold her close. “Of course.”

She smiles lightly and sighs. I kiss the top of her head as she closes her eyes. She’s so fucking perfect. I stare at her until my eyes grow heavy and sleep takes me.

I wake up to the sound of my phone buzzing frantically next to me. “Shit.” I roll over and kiss Amelia’s bare shoulder. “So beautiful.” I grab my phone and see it’s Inga.

“What’s going on?” I growl, trying to be quiet.

“There’s been a fire at the building. It’s been contained, and no one was seriously injured. The fire department and the police want to talk to you. They believe it was arson.”

“What the fuck? Okay. I’m on my way now.”

“What’s going on?” I look at Amelia, who has the sheets covering her breasts as she sits against the headboard.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you, but I have to go back to New York.”

“What? After what…”

“Baby, I swear I wouldn’t go if it wasn’t important. Someone set fire to my company.”

“Oh my God. Was anyone hurt?”

“Inga told me that no one was seriously hurt, but I don’t know anymore than that.”

“Inga?”

“My assistant.” She looks a bit jealous, but I don’t have time to reassure her. “I’m sorry. You could come with me.”

“I can’t. I have to finish packing for the move in a week.”

“Okay. I’m going to fly out soon. Then, I’ll have the jet brought back for you to take when you’re ready to go. It should be able to fit everything you’re taking with you.”

“Are you serious?”

“Extremely serious, Amelia.” I kiss her hard and climb out of bed to get dressed. A week. I’m supposed to make it a week without her.

“I can’t do that.”

“Why not?”

“Because it’s yours.”

“I’d prefer to know you are safe. My team can get you to New York and into your dorm without any trouble.” She nods.

“Fine, okay, but when will I see you again?”

“As soon as possible. I don’t know how much bullshit they’re going to put me through.”

“Be careful.”

“I will. Now kiss me, baby.”

“I don’t know if you deserve it.”

“I know I don’t deserve it, but I need it, Princess.”

“Okay.” She throws her arms around me and plants her lips on mine. I devour her mouth, kissing her hard, dipping my tongue between her seam, licking hers. In fact, I can’t go without eating her pussy. I nudge her backward onto the bed and slide the sheet down her body, revealing inch by delectable inch of her.

“I need another taste before I go,” I whisper next to her slit. Then I don’t hold back as I lash her pussy with my tongue, tasting her cream, attempting to bring her to an intense orgasm. I want her to come for me before I go. Pumping a finger into her painfully tight core, I suck on her clit and she lets go, coming hard, grinding her pussy in my face and gripping my hair as she takes what’s hers.

Hearing her voice in my ears and having her flavor on my tongue is what I need to get through these next couple of days being miles apart. I wish she’d come with me, but I’m asking a lot.

Her body collapses on the bed, and I give her a quick spank on her mound before getting up and getting dressed. It’s hard to walk away from her, but it’s a must. She’s resting in bed, looking sated and sad. Fuck, this is going to hurt. “I’m gonna miss you like crazy, Amelia.”

“I’m gonna miss you too.” We kiss again, and I take my suitcase out while I let her rest.

I just make it down the stairs only to see Rachel coming toward me. “Sneaking out after getting what you want?”

“What I want is to take her with me, but she’s not ready to go. There’s been a fire at my company, and I need to get back and handle everything. My jet will be ready to fly her to New York, and my driver will be waiting for her.”

“I’m sorry about the fire, and I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions.”

“Given our tense relationship, I suppose I deserve your doubt. I want you to know that my feelings for Amelia are more than I can ever express, and I’m doing my best to give her the trust she has earned.”

“It’s going to be a rough road. A much rougher one if you hurt my girl.”

“I’m trying to be the best man I can. Excuse me, I have to go. Tell my Dad that I’ll call.”

“Okay.” She sips her coffee and closes the front door behind me. I put my suitcase in my rental and then jump in the driver’s seat. I steal a glance back at the house, hoping to see her again, but I know she’s still in our bed. The ride to the airport takes no time at all. I’m on my flight, moving away from my woman, and my heart’s heavy. As soon as we land, I call her.

“Hey, Princess.”

“Roman, you’ve landed?”

“Yes, I’m about to meet my driver. How are you feeling? I hope I didn’t hurt you last night.”

“No. I’m okay. A little tender, but I suppose that’s a given considering your size and my inexperience.”

“Thanks for the compliment. I have to go, but I’ll call you when I can.”

“Take care. I hope everything turns out well.”

“Me too.” I end the call and answer the other line. “What’s the damage?”

“One whole floor was damaged from the sprinklers and the firefighters.”

“I’m on my way now. I’ve just gotten in the car. I’m about an hour out, given traffic.”

“Okay. I’ll let them know you’re coming.”

“No. Don’t say anything. I want to see if we catch anyone by surprise. If they believe it’s arson, that means I have a traitor among my employees.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Is there anything else I need to know?”

“I don’t know if you care, but you’ve received your annual invitation to your favorite charity. Are you interested in attending?”

“Yes, and I’ll have a date,” I state proudly. I wonder if Amelia will be happy to attend with me or if it’ll bring up bad memories of the orphanage, if she has any.

“Yay. That’s very good news,” Inga cheers.

“Good. I’ll be there soon.” I end the call and then shoot a text to my guard on Amelia, asking for an update. If this is arson, I can’t risk something happening to her. Stay close, but you don’t speak to her or touch her.

I feel no relief in my request. She doesn’t have me there to be her personal bodyguard. There are too many dangers worse than the guy trying to steal her from me. Although I don’t trust he’ll try to get close to Amelia, I have to trust that she won’t let him in.

The second I pull up to the building, I say to my driver, “Leave my suitcase in the trunk. I don’t know how bad the damage is.”

As soon as I enter the building, the press and the police are on me.

“Mr. Edwards, Mr. Edwards! Can we get a comment on where you’ve been? How did you learn about the fire? Do you know how it started?”

“Holy shit, why are you all still here? I’m tired and not happy, so I have no comment because I have no idea what happened. The only thing I have to say is to the police. Excuse me.”

“Hello, I’m Detective Walters. This is Fire Chief Randall Miller. Can we have a word with you?”

“Of course.” We move to the security office. “First, how bad is the damage? Are we still structurally sound?”

“Completely. The firewalls are well insulated and the fire was contained.”

“Thank you for that. My assistant said someone was hurt—do you know who or how?”

“Yes. It was one of the guards, but he’s under police observation.”

“Shouldn’t that be medical observation?”

“Yes, and no. He suffered from the blast because he’s the one who started it.”

“What the hell? I knew it had to be someone who worked for me, but I’m not sure why?”

“We don’t know either. Do you have enemies?”

“Who doesn’t have enemies when you buy failing companies? But, I can’t think of anyone who would do this. Where was the fire?”

“In your penthouse and on the fifth floor.”

“What the fuck? I was told it was only on the fifth floor.”

“Most of the damage was on the fifth floor.”

“Son of a bitch. Please tell me my housekeeper wasn’t in there.”

“No. She called the police when she got a notification that the alarm had been set off. She said that since you were out of town, there should have been no one there.”

“Thank goodness. What the hell.” I spear my fingers through my hair. “This is unbelievable.” A sickening feeling hits me. Anna. But why?
