Bad Daddy’s Forgotten Little by Mary Potter

CHAPTER SIX

Jack

As soon as we were alone, I looked at Jessie, who was staring at me in fear and disbelief.  After she was brought back into the house, I had kicked Ryan out.  Once he was gone, I went back into the house to check on Jessie.

Originally, when we bought the farmhouse, we had sworn that we were going to stay together no matter what, but Ryan had gone too far this time.  It was time to show him that we wouldn't stand for any sort of issue like this.  It wasn't right to mistreat the Littles, regardless of what everyone seemed to think.

As I stared down at the ground, I started to wonder what I was going to do about Jessie.  It wasn't fair to kick her out because of something that wasn't her fault, nor was it fair to blame her for all this.  However, most of the Littles here already had Daddies, so we didn't have any extra rooms to accommodate any Daddiless Littles.  I sighed and shook my head, supposing I could always make her my Little.  After all, I never got any Littles.  Maybe it was time for me to step up.  After all, I did feel responsible for everything happening to Jessie.  The more I thought about it, the more I thought it was a good idea.  After all, I wanted to help her more than anything, and I had always had a huge crush on her, even when she belonged to Martin.  Finally making up my mind, I smiled and got to my feet before looking around at Jessie.

"So, I assume you want to stay here with the rest of us," I said as I looked at her.  She nodded in agreement, and I smiled.  "I'd love for you to stay here as well."  She frowned as she looked at me.

"Really?" she asked, and I nodded.

"Of course," I told her.  “In fact, if you want, we’ll help you find someone else.  That is unless there isn’t already someone else.”  She smiled a little.

“Well, there is somebody,” she said, and my heart sank at this news, “but I don’t know if he likes me back or not.”  I frowned as I looked at her.

“Really?” I asked.  “Well, they’d have to be pretty crazy to not like you back.”  She chuckled a little and shook her head.

“Not after the shit he’s been through because of me,” she said as she sank onto the bed.  “I kinda fucked everything with his brother, and it looks like I may have ruined things between him and his other brother, too.”  I frowned as I looked at her.

“Who exactly are you talking about?” I asked, and she stared at me in shock and disbelief before bursting into laughter.

“You, of course, silly,” she said as she shook her head at me.  “I messed up everything with Martin, and, because of me, you may never speak to Ryan again…”  She stopped laughing and stared down at her lap.  “I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted me gone.  Everyone else does."  I shook my head as I looked at her.

"No, I don't want you gone," I told her.  "I want you to stay.  Everyone knows what happened isn't your fault.  No one wants you gone."  She paused and looked at me.

'You mean it?" she asked, and I nodded in agreement.

"Of course," I told her.  I then looked around the room and shook my head.  "Look, I should go through and make the arrangements needed to let you stay here, and you can go ahead and get everything sorted out."  She frowned as she stared at me.

"I'm still staying here?" she asked, and I nodded.

"I would recommend it," I told her.  "After all, I don't want to force you to do anything you don't want to, especially after everything that happened."  She sighed and shook her head.

"Alright, that's fair," she said as she smiled politely at me.  "I'll get back to work then.  You want to come get me when Auntie Gracie has dinner ready?"  I nodded.

"Good call," I told her.  "I need to go talk to everyone else anyways."  She nodded, and I took off towards the downstairs.

"Hey, Jack," she called out from the doorway, and I turned to look at her.

"Yes," I asked, and she smiled.

"Thanks for everything," she told me.  "I mean for everything with Ryan and for not kicking me off the farm with him…"  I smiled and nodded at her.

"You're welcome," I told her.  "You should get back to work."  With that, I started down the states and over to the kitchen, where everyone was waiting for me.  Martin crossed his arms as he stared at me.

"Is she okay?" he asked, and I nodded.

"She's fine," I told him as I looked at the group that had gathered around me.  "My question is if you're okay."  Martin shrugged.

"I'm fine," he said.  "I'm just wondering why my ex is staying here while you kicked Ryan, a hard worker, out of here."  I raised my eyebrow at Martin.

"He may be our brother, but no one mistreats Littles, regardless of what she ended up doing to you," I told him.  "Are you really going to make a big deal out of this?"  Martin sighed and shook his head.

"She's not even family," he pointed out, and I turned to glare at him.

"Neither is Alexis or Auntie Gracie or any other Daddy or Little," I reminded him.  "Are you going to start demanding that I kick them off as well?"  Martin sighed and shook his head.

"I just don't want her hurting anyone else," he said, and I shook my head.

"She wasn't the one who hurt you," I warned him.  "It was Ryan who made her keep quiet."  When he didn't say anything, I sighed and shook my head.  "I'll keep an eye on her."  Matting raised an eyebrow at me and shook his head.

"Whatever you say," he said.  "So long as she doesn't hurt you in the process…"  I smiled and nodded.

"Perfect," I told him.  "You don't have to interact with her.  Just be civil."
