Vicious Desire by Leslie V. Walker

Chapter Nine

Brendan

The one thing I remembered my mom telling me before she died was to treat people with utmost respect all the time. My dad followed up by saying to treat people the way they deserved it earning a scowl from her.

I don’t really remember much about their marriage, but the parts I do remember they were happy. And then the others just seem like a blur. Like time with them was minimum and never exceeded a certain time.

I still have all their belongings locked up in dad’s office. I wanted to keep things for Lillie since she doesn’t remember anything but just bits and blurs.

“What are we going to do once they officially come. You know their first strike they’ll be all nice. But on their second. They’ll do anything in their power to get to you. Which means they’ll strike with the people closest to you.” Zane says always the one in reason when he decides to.

Us for are all in our place in Trailstar. Today is busy than usual which gives us more advantage for tonight if we can get pass the cops. Even though we have them in our clutches they like to rebel against us never letting us in on what we need. So, we always have to take it another way. But this time our guy isn’t here, so we need someone.

“We have to wait and see.”

“We won’t be prepared.” Zane protests. The other guys listening in close but not wanting to comment.

“Either way we have no lead. No matter what we find they’re one step ahead. We don’t even know who they are. I already have too much on my plate to deal to waste my time and not get anywhere.” It wasn’t a lie. With John at home always trying shit with my sister.

Then the fucking custody battle. The one where I will never be able to take care of my sister. It’s fucking up my mind. Every day I see her all I can think about what a terrible brother I am. I hug her like it’s the last time I’ll ever see her because I’m scared, they’ll take her away from me. She’s the only one that keeps me going.

And now with having Ayanna back it feels like that summer night again. Where I can break the shell and finally be able to breathe. Being with her four years ago was as close to freedom as I’ll ever get.

It was the way the words fell from her round soft pink lips. The way she laid next to me on the dirty ground and let me do things to her that would be regarded as a sin. A sin so fucking good.

Yet even the lies she spread about me I can’t help but push it to the side and want her underneath me as I give her pleasure and everything she desires in the world.

“That’s exactly why we’re going tonight. You told her, right?” Rocco asks lighting his cigarette.

“Not yet. But I know where she is. She won’t have a say now.”

Rocco shakes his head. “Does she even know what she’s getting into?”

“Doesn’t matter. I’ll meet you guys there. Remember to be on time.” I hand them the paper with the location on where to meet for tonight before walking out of the building.

Loud music plays as people dance and cheer on just as two cars begin to race. I walk pass to my car and just when I get inside my phone begins to ring.

“What do you want?” I answer.

“Ooh. Grouchy are we,” Lillie mocks, clicking her tongue.

“You only call me when you want something.” I clarify.

“That’s not true and you know it. You know I love you.”

“Yet you called about an hour ago. So, what’s up?”

“I was wondering if I can go out with some friends and then spend the night at Nina’s.” She whispers the last part as she takes in a deep breathe to listen to my answer.

My little sister has always been one to do the most spontaneous things in life. Taking in any challenge as long as it’s crazy and makes her feel good. She’s a little firecracker.

“Fine. But I want you back by morning.”

“But it’s Sunday tomorrow.”

“Sunday night.” A squeal leaves her along with some rustling noise. I already know she’s jumping up and down.

“I got to go––”

“Wait. Is Gunner there?” I let out a sigh shaking my head.

Lillie has been in obsession with Gunner ever since I can remember. I always kept reminding her it was never going to happen, not because I wouldn’t allow it. But because he had no interest in her. But she still doesn’t take the hint.

“I’m hanging up now.”

“No. Bren—”

Pulling out on to the main road I place the address to where I know Ayanna will be and make my way over there. Even though I know it’ll be a big mistake.
