A Demon’s Touch by Ella Jade
Chapter 17
Angelo
I sat on the edge of the bed as Harper slowly came out of her sleep. The sun had come up a few hours ago. I’d already been for a swim in the ocean and had a jog on the beach. I’d tired her out last night. She didn’t even know I was missing.
“Hey, beautiful.” I caressed her cheek as she stretched out her muscles. “Good morning.”
“Hi.” Her lips curved into a satisfied smile.
“Did you sleep well?”
“Very well.” When she sat up, the sheets slipped to her waist, revealing her gorgeous breasts.
I reached for her hand when she tried to cover herself. “Don’t deny me the view.”
“You’re dressed.”
“I went for a swim and a run, and then took a shower.” I traced my finger along her lips. “You were so peaceful that I didn’t want to disturb you.”
“Sleeping next to you was one of the most peaceful things I’ve ever experienced.”
“You should get used to it.” I gently kissed her. “Because it’s going to happen often.”
“Something smells fantastic.”
“Are you ready for breakfast?”
“Did you cook?”
“Greta has prepared a fabulous breakfast for us.” I motioned outside. “It’s on the terrace. She can access it from another bedroom, so she didn’t disturb you while you slept.”
“Greta is here?”
“David too. They arrived late last night.”
“So, they know we…”
“Spent the night together? Yes, I didn’t feel a need to hide that information. I hope you don’t mind.”
“Do they always travel with you?”
“Most of the time.” I didn’t plan to bring them along on this trip, but Koradon’s recent visits had David on high alert. He insisted on joining me. “Why don’t you get situated and meet me out there so we can eat?”
“Okay.” She looked around for her clothes. “I’ll go back to my room and get dressed.”
“No.” I scooped up her tank top and panties from the floor, so she couldn’t have them. “You can wear my t-shirt. I left it in the bathroom for you. That will suffice for breakfast.”
“Can I have my underwear?” She held out her hand. “I might need them.”
“You won’t.” I kissed the top of her head. “Don’t keep me waiting too long.”
I opened the terrace doors, stepped out into the salty air, and perused the shoreline. It was quiet today. No signs of Koradon. Not on the beach and not in my head. All I could focus on was Harper and last night. Coaxing her to come to me had been the right decision. She needed my subconscious push, but she also needed to believe it was her choice to initiate the next step. It was a win for both of us. Now, we could move forward.
When she stepped out onto the terrace wearing nothing but my black t-shirt, my cock ached to bend her over the railing and fuck the life out of her. Her messy hair blew in the breeze as she made her way to me.
“Wow!” She looked at the magnificent breakfast on the table. “How did Greta have time to make all of this? Wasn’t she tired from her late flight?”
Demons required little sleep; Greta was no exception “Greta thrives off being busy and taking care of me. Now that she has you to look after as well, she’s over the moon.”
“How did she come to be with you?”
“It was meant to be.”
They banished Greta to this world when she refused to help a horrible demon in his quest to bring pain and suffering to a human woman. Her loyalty was tested and when she refused, our world tossed her out. She never looked back. She was referred to me, and I provided her with a home. In return, she took care of me.
“You’re lucky to have Greta and David. He admires you and she adores you.”
“I would do anything for them.”
“You’re not the fierce man you want people to believe you are.”
“That’s not true. Ask some of my business rivals. They can tell you some stories.” Not just my business associates. There were many castaways from the underworld who feared me and for good reasons.
“Well, you’ve been nothing but a softy with me.”
“Hmm.” I wrapped my arm around her waist and tugged her to me. “I might have to change your perception of me.”
“I look forward to you trying.” She bit her lip. “It sounds like it could be fun.”
“We’ll have plenty of time to try, but first, you need to eat. You’ll need your energy.” I released her from my hold and pulled a chair out for her. “Have a seat.”
“Thank you.” She sat across from me and then draped a napkin across her lap. “It all looks delicious.”
“I was thinking the same thing about you.” I poured her some orange juice. “I’ve set up a spa day for you today.”
“Oh, that was thoughtful of you.”
“I have some business to take care of while I’m in town.” I owned several properties here and wanted to check in on some people who were under my protection. “I won’t be gone long, but I thought you might like some ‘me time.’”
“I like the ‘you time’ better.”
“There’s going to be a full moon tonight. I thought it might be nice to have dinner by the pool under the stars.”
“Maybe I’ll buy a new dress for the occasion, something sexy and red.” She put some fruit on her plate. “Would you like that?”
“You know I would.” I sipped my coffee. “I know you’re a hotshot attorney now, but I’ll buy the dress for you and whatever else you want.”
“A hotshot attorney who lives off her trust fund.” She bit into a piece of pineapple.
“Why are you living off your trust fund?” That made little sense. “You work for a prestigious law firm, and you represent their most influential and lucrative client. They must have increased your salary when I requested you.”
“Not yet.”
“That’s absurd.” I picked up my phone. “I’ll handle it.”
“Handle what?” Her emerald eyes widened when I scrolled through my contacts. “Who are you calling?”
“Calvin,” I said when the idiot answered.
“Angelo, is everything satisfactory?”
“No, not really,” I answered.
“Is it Harper? Is she not working out?” The panic in his voice was embarrassing,
“It has come to my attention that Ms. Whitmore is not being properly compensated for her service.”
“Oh, God,” Harper whispered. “What are you doing?”
“Oh, well,” Calvin stumbled over his response. “I figured she was on a trial basis, and I was waiting to make sure she met your standards,”
“That’s unacceptable. We never agreed that this was a trial.”
“Then I trust everything is working out.”
“Everything is working out.” I reached across the table and took Harper’s hand in mine. “Ms. Whitmore is everything I could have hoped for in an attorney.”
“Really?” I sensed the surprise in his voice. “That’s wonderful news.”
“I expect the salary issue to be resolved by the end of business today. Text me the number, and I’ll let you know if it’s acceptable.” I winked at Harper. “End of business today, or we’re going to have a serious problem on our hands.”
“We don’t need any problems,” Calvin agreed.
“No, we don’t.” I ended the call and set my phone down.
“You never lock your phone,” Harper said.
“What?” I glanced down at the active screen. “It has a passcode.”
“But it takes several seconds for your screen to go black. You could accidentally dial someone, or someone could see something you don’t want them to.”
“I’m not that concerned.” I squeezed her hand. “You’re getting a raise.”
“How did Calvin take it?”
“He does whatever I say, and there will be no consequences for you.”
“Thank you.” She let go of my hand and picked up her fork. “No one has ever looked out for me the way you do. Duke tried, but he was so much older and didn’t always know what I needed.”
“I know what you need, my love, and I always will.” There was a strong, independent woman beneath the surface of all that doubt and overthinking. I had to get her to emerge. “Eat your breakfast.”

Harper
After breakfast, Angelo met with David while I scrolled on my phone, checking email and social media. I had to admit, I was a bit disappointed that he was sending me off on a spa day. Not that I wasn’t appreciative, but I’d much rather spend the day with him.
Last night had been spectacular. I knew being with him would be off the charts, but it exceeded my every expectation. There was no denying that Angelo was more than the man of my dreams. He was everything I could have ever imagined.
Greta came out onto the terrace to clear the breakfast plates. She wore a pink shirt and black yoga pants. Her hair was pulled into a low ponytail and her skin was bright and flawless. She didn’t look that much older than me. I wondered how she could have been with Angelo for all these years. Was she twelve when she came to live with him?
“Hi.” I stood to greet her, suddenly feeling a bit awkward, since I was wearing a t-shirt and nothing else. Angelo’s t-shirt, no less. “Thank you for breakfast.” I tugged at the bottom of Angelo’s shirt, trying to cover my thighs before sitting back down.
If Greta noticed, she didn’t say anything. “How are you this morning?”
“Fantastic.” I beamed.
“I’m guessing your first night here was pleasant.”
“You could say that.”
She smiled as she cleared the table.
“You don’t have to clean up after us.” I motioned to the mess. “We can do that.”
“I don’t mind.” She carefully stacked the plates and utensils in a large black bin. “I hear we’re going to the spa today.”
“You’re coming with me?”
“If you don’t mind.”
“I’d love that.” Maybe Greta could give me some more pieces of the intricate puzzle that was Angelo, so I could figure out who this man I was falling so fast and so desperately for was. “Some girl time,” I added to her.
“It’ll be nice to get to know you better.” She finished with the plates. “You’re a refreshing change from what I usually deal with.”
“The bikini models?” I laughed, hoping she knew who I meant.
“Yes, the bikini models.” She rolled her eyes. “I’m happy to see that phase is over.”
“What phase?” Angelo seemed to appear out of nowhere.
“Hey.” I turned to greet him. “Greta was just telling me she’s coming to the spa with me.”
“I’ll leave you two alone.” Greta smiled at us. “I’ll see you soon, Harper.”
“Looking forward to it.”
“Sorry, I forgot to mention that.” He leaned down, taking my chin between his fingers. “I thought you might like the company.”
“It’s a great idea, maybe Greta will unlock some of the mysteries surrounding you.”
“Don’t count on it.” He dipped his head, holding me still as he pressed his lips to mine. My body sprung to life when he pushed his tongue inside my mouth. I reached up and cupped the back of his head, trying to get closer.
The muscles in his back coiled under my touch as I ran my hands along his tight form. The scruff on his jaw scraped roughly against my chin with each turn of his head. When I reached for his belt buckle, he broke the kiss and stared down at me. His chest heaved forward when I unbuckled his belt and popped the button on his jeans.
“What are you doing?” He twisted his fingers in my hair.
“What I wanted to do yesterday when we were by the pool.” I didn’t break our eye contact as I lowered his zipper, licking my lips when I thought about tasting him. “I want you in my mouth.”
“Fuck.” He gripped my hair tighter. “Do you think you can handle all of me?”
“It would be my pleasure to try.”
“Actually, I believe it’s going to be my pleasure.” He caressed my jaw. “Go for it.”
When he pushed my head forward, I grasped his long, thick shaft in my palm, impressed that it fit inside me last night. Sliding my hand down to the base, I opened my mouth and twirled my tongue around the tip, licking and sucking it.
“Harper.” He shifted his hips forward, causing his length to slide deeper into my mouth. “Don’t tease me.” He used my hair in combination with his hips to show me how he expected it. “Like that.”
“Hmm…” I hummed around his cock as he bobbed my head back and forth, hitting the back of my throat as he moved. I fought the urge to gag, trying to regulate my breathing.
His hold was so tight in my hair that I couldn’t move my head, so I raised my eyes to look at him. He stared down at me, observing my every move. When he narrowed his gaze, the muscles in his face tightened, and the veins in his neck pulsed in time with his forceful thrusts. I clawed at his thigh with my free hand, giving into his control. It was sexy to witness how aroused he was, using my mouth to facilitate his ultimate gratification.
I squeezed my legs together, but without the barrier of my panties, the dampness pooled between them. The ocean breeze swept along my heated skin, but it did nothing to cool the fire inside my soul.
“Harper.” He closed his eyes and tossed his head back. “I’m going to come down your fucking throat.”
I pressed my lips together and braced myself for the inevitable. He covered the side of my face with his hand, tugged on my hair, and let out a low, rasping moan as he released his warm, salty cum into my mouth. Without thinking, I swallowed.
That was a first.
He let go of my hair and pulled out of my mouth, kneeling down so that we were eye level. He swiped the pad of his thumb across my lips before leaning in and kissing me.
“I sort of took control of that situation.”
“I noticed.” I ran my fingers through his hair. “I’m used to it.”
“I enjoyed your mouth immensely.” He touched his forehead to mine. “I’m enjoying you immensely too.”
“The feeling is mutual,” I said.
“I know.”
“Of course, you do.”
