Omega Found by E.L. Rose

Roman

Ihave wasted years looking for Dan.

He used to be Alpha of the Heart pack, but when his wife and son died, he left behind all his responsibilities in the pack and failed to report the new location pertaining to his daughter. There was speculation that she may not even be his biological daughter. Her wolf was never known, and all wolves have to report which type they are, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and, if so, blessed Omega, which is too rare to even fathom for many.

She was supposed to have been introduced to supernatural society. Heart's daughter was supposed to be in my school last week signing up for classes... alas, here I am. The council located him last night after they found footage of him getting into a bar brawl. Vampires never like to tangle with the wolves, even if we do share blood bonds with some of their race, but those are rare.

I sat in the car and watched the girl limps her way down the block to another wolf’s house, when she left, I waited for her to come back. Fifteen minutes later, the wolf walks out of his house and straight to me. I get out of the car; curiosity getting the better of me.

“Please tell me that you are here to take Honey away?” He tenses with every passing second, so I finally give in and answer.

“Yes, I am. I am the Headmaster at the school, and a part of the council.” The tension leaks from him immediately. From the looks of him, he must have either graduated recently or knew the school I was referring to.

“Good, she needs to leave her piece of shit, father. Could you give this to her?” He reaches down on the ground and holds a small bag out to me; I hadn’t noticed that he was carrying it when he came out of his house.

“Sure.” I put the bag into the car. An hour later Honey comes back, and I watch her go to the wolf's house, I see her pull out a stack of bills and stuff some in her back pocket and put the rest in the same pocket as before. I could hear the screaming and begging start a few minutes after she walked into the house. Almost like he tried to lure her in with a sense of safety before he lashed out at her.

I have never hated that I had superior hearing until this very moment. Even from my car, I could hear the pleas falling from her lips, and his fist hitting whichever part of flesh on her body. I was flinching with the need to kill someone. When I called the council, they told me I could not interfere and to wait until Dan was asleep to subdue him.

When Dan finally lays down to sleep, I use my speed to enter the house and beat him within an inch of his life before he can even move. I throw some cuffs on him and call in the cleanup crew. “I beat Dan up pretty bad; he was resisting.”

A bald-faced lie. But I don’t care. I run down to the basement and find the most heartbreaking sight I have ever seen; it makes my fangs descend and I start to see red until I want to go rip out the wolf's throat. There shackled to the floor like a rabid animal is his daughter. She is bloodied with open wounds and I can smell the blood leaking from her.

She should have healed, but I can’t sense her wolf. Her hair is loose and haloed around her head on the concrete, the gray shirt she wears smells faintly of the wolf down the street, and for a moment I feel jealousy. Her beautiful caramel skin is littered with bruises and her eyes are closed. You can see the tears she’s cried through the tracks of blood on her cheeks.

I go back upstairs to Dan and find the key in his clothing, the sick pervert, and head back down to uncuff the girl. When I hold her in my arms, I can smell cinnamon and cherries. Her blood calls to me in a way I never thought another’s would.

Oh no, this cannot be happening.

My fangs descend and I have to forcefully clear my head before I mark her. This petite woman in my arms is my blood bonded. I look at her face and my heart breaks. This will never happen to her again, I swear right then and there to her sleeping form that I will protect her. Even from me, I cannot let her know I am her blood bonded.

I race up the stairs, clutching her to my chest. I lay her carefully in the car's backseat, get in, and start the long drive to the school.
