Honey
Iwake up, hearing a knock on the door. I scramble from the bed, remembering that the Headmaster said he would be sending someone to pick me up. I fling the door open and immediately regret it. In front of me stands yet another gorgeous male. He has his black hair pulled back in a messy ponytail, his face clean-shaven. He’s wearing a school uniform, but it does nothing to conceal the muscles underneath it. His skin looks kissed by the sun, like he’s used to lying on a beach all day.
“Hey, someone's knocking on the door for you.” His gaze travels up and down my body and his eyes open wide.
I look down in alarm and realize I am still just in a t-shirt; I must look like a train wreck. “Thank you.” I stand there awkwardly; I have no idea what I am doing. I have no idea how to socialize with anyone besides Grady.
“Look, I don’t want to be sharing the same space with you, leave me alone and I will do the same.” With that, he walks off and slams the door.
I throw on some leggings and my one good sweater. I don’t have a backpack yet, so I rush to open the door and see a very impatient, bored looking girl on the other side.
“God, you couldn’t move any slower. Let’s go, charity case.” She spins on her heel and speed walks down the hall in heels that I am sure I would kill myself in.
Charity case, what? I don’t know why she is being mean to me, but I don’t care for it, I decide that I will just try to avoid her.
“Move it, I don’t have all day to baby you, I need to take you to the Headmaster’s office.”
I stare at the back of her head; she is pretty; the girl next door looks in stilettos. Long brown hair, full lips, green eyes, and an attitude of entitled rich girl. I decide to be brave and ask her why she called me a charity case. What I don’t expect is for her to stop in her tracks and spin around to glare daggers at me.
“Are you serious? Do you really think that you just came to this school because it's open to anyone? You are a pathetic waste of space and that is why you are roomed with that waste of an Alpha wolf. You do not belong here. Oh yeah, I did my research on you. Daddy had ya chained in a basement, didn’t he?”
I stop breathing; panic starts to claw its way up my throat. How did she know about my dad? Does she know everything? When I look back up at her, she is smirking at me, my wolf starts to growl, she doesn’t like this female.
“Move, charity case.”
When she wraps her nails around my wrist, I flinch back and yank my wrist from her grasp. “Please, don’t touch me.”
She looks shocked for a moment before she turns around and starts walking. When we arrive at the Headmaster’s door, it’s like her evil side disappears. She knocks and walks in. The receptionist from last night is sitting at her desk and when she looks up, she glances from me to the girl.
“Hailey, you can go to breakfast, dear, thank you for bringing the new student here.”
Hailey, so that’s her name. She turns and walks right back out the door.
“Honey, please have a seat. The Headmaster will be with you in a moment.” I sit in the chair; my nerves are all over the place since Hailey brought up my dad. I want to go and hide; I am nervous about seeing the Headmaster since I growled at him last night.
