Icouldn’t believe that the morning rush, meant that no one else was helping out and I had to serve breakfast, tidy up and cleanup then possibly help with the afternoon rush. Nan spent most of her time just entertaining the guests, talking about the show. Everyone seemed to have watched it and wanted to know what most of the other characters were like, and she didn’t hesitate in sitting down and talking to them all.

As I arrived at the reception desk, just to tell mom I was going to sit down and rest before the next wave at lunch.

She smiled at me, as if she knew what was about to leave my mouth.

“You’re tired. Sorry, I didn’t think that you would come home and having to face this. Greg and Claire, and the other staff only told me the day before they planned to leave, that they were leaving. I never knew before. I know it was a tremendous disappointment at not graduating and having the whole ceremony. I was so looking forward to that.”

I shook my head, “I’ve graduated. That’s the most important thing. Besides, they said that it was postponed, not canceled.”

It was a lie. They said that it was pending, but we knew the reality, that there was no way that we were going to have it, they were still pending the ceremonies from 2020, when it all began.

The certificate in the post, and a video that we would post online, was as good as it was going to get.

Her blue eyes shone as she said, “Go. Go get some rest. I’ll get Judy to do some work for a change, and you can rest until dinnertime.”

I was going to argue and say that I didn’t need to rest that long. But I’d been going up and down the stairs for the last two weeks. This was a person who studied, and went to lectures and did nothing for four years until maybe the last three years of college. Yeah, I needed a break.

“Sure.”

“And Kiara, there’s a plate waiting for you in your room. You must be starving.”

“Understatement. I’ll be back down around six!”

She nodded her head, and as much as I hated eating in my room, I didn’t argue with her as I had the motivation of food waiting in my room, to make me not wait for the elevator, but just head up the stairs.

There wasa knock on the door and I was a little restless, especially after having my late breakfast. I assumed I would fall asleep, but it was the complete opposite as David stood on the other side of the door.

“Hey,” I smiled, but he didnt’ return it. Unlike Chaz and Adonis, I’d got to know them before they came, but David was the quiet one. The type that I couldn’t work out. His dark eyes traced my body from my feet and met my eyes.

He moved forward, and I followed suit by moving more into my room. We didn’t say a word, the atmosphere was so thick. A wave of how I was feeling last night built-up inside of me.

“I know what you need…” he growled, and without warning, he pulled me in front of him.

“Have you ever submitted to anyone?”

I shook my head, somehow finding myself unable to speak.

“Do you want to be my sub?”

I laughed, “What does that mean?”

He winked, “It means making quarantine that much more fun. Don’t try and pretend that you are innocent, I’ve seen some messages that you sent Chaz. I know what you want and I can provide it.”

I was just about to tease him. Flirt with him even, because he was so sure of himself, but I could tell he wasn’t joking, it didn’t seem to be in his nature. From the time we’d met, he’d been the serious one out of the three. I didn’t even understand how he was friends with Chaz, when they were the complete opposite.

“From the first time I met you, I couldn’t stop thinking about all the things I could do to you. So, I’ll ask you once again, and believe me this will be my last offer. Do you want be my submissive?”

I nodded my head, this time, the idea of what it could mean, intrigued. My time here would involve, cleaning, smiling and cooking. Ever since the time in the lake, I thought I would see Chaz all the time, it’d been the complete opposite. Maybe desperation kicked in, worrying that I’d somehow disappointed Chaz, why had he been avoiding me?

I knew that if I turned him down, I would regret it.

I was too curious for my own damn good.

“Good. You need to be in my room in one hour. Wear nothing more than a dress, with no panties and a bra. Understood?”

I didn’t answer him; it was as if my silence said it all. I bit my lip as he left,I had a dress to pick out, I stood frozen after David left the room. He wasn’t with me anymore, but I could still smell his astringent scent, as if he was still in the room. I wanted to tell him I changed my mind, but as the door slammed shut, I knew I was too late.

Something moved on the ground, so naturally I looked down, and saw that he slipped a note. It must have been him, I bent down to read it.

Kiara,

The instructions are simple.

Come as I asked.

Wear nothing more.

Think of a safe word, something that you would say when things get too much.

And remember one thing, I said one hour.

A second more, and the offer is off the table.

David, but you can call me, Sir.
